Hi all, a little foreword: sorry in advance to all who dont see through anymore. I know I have several projects going on and here comes the next one and have deepest rspect for those who have only ONE project going on, concentating on it only. Its really not about "hey look at me!" (Funny - I heard that several times... oh well... ), its about modelling fun I want to share. Nothing more and nothing less. I like that game called "Ace Combat" and fell in platonic love with that plane since I saw it first time - and now its finally here. That Shinden II plöane is a sexy beast, in my opinion - sharp, fast and dangerous, and even comes with a really cool design (namely reverse-shaped wings). Got some Fujimi deck personell as well and if everything will be completed one day (I hope so! ), a former IJN 1/48 deck from Eduard will be her new home. Thanks for watching. EDIT: Just recognized she seems to be wrong here - please move the thread in the right sub area - where the Bumble Bee is as well! Thanks.

That jet reminds me of a toy I had from GI Joe many years ago when I was 12 or 13 years old! Good memories!
I know its a wingy build but you sure got my attention!

Interesting model. Looks as if it has a bit of Su-47 Berkut in its genes as well as F35... Will you be using the kit markings or "personalising" it with a unit of your own creation or a favourite real-world unit?
Regards,
M

Yeah, Berkut was coming to my mind too! Ill go for the kit markings - theyre just too cool and it would be a real waste not to use them They look a bit time cosuming with all their details, but theyre shard as theyre supposed to and I think its worth spending some time with them.

Incoming! The landing gear stays like it is, the cockpit not - here and there some spare PE parts were used. The decals are awesome btw, they look brilliant on the dashboard.

Nice work Lucas! The aircraft looks a bit like the Grumman X-29.

Yes, the X-29 looks a bit similar too. Fasten your seatbelts, please. Initially I wanted only minimal touch ups for the cockpit, but you know... once you started, you cant stop somehow. Heres a short list of things that were changed/updated: Armatures:-spare HUD (red kids yoghurt 3D-glasses foil ) area behind bang seat:-diverse boxes made from profiles & PE parts bang seat/pilot:-triangles on the back were drilled, cut and sanded down (they were "massive" - dont ask me why) -ejection rails added -diverse boxes & cables for the seat (profile, lead wire) -self made belts (aluminum foil) -oxygen tube changed >> made from lead wire

Thanks all. First paint on the rudders is on, the plane will get a greenish bluegrey/grey/NATO black finish, btw. - first decals on the rudders are on, and they work perfectly.

Looking very cool Lucas! I really do love this plane, always wanted to do it in Aggressor or USN colours. Looking forward to seeing how yours turns out! Cheers, Sam

Sorry for the delay - other projects on the run, serious kit problems and something called "real life" were in the way. A propos kit problems - after having the Maskol on for about 11 months now, I peeled it off and it just was impossible. It got sticky and slimey - relly bad. That caused a repaint of the whole cockpit of course (at least the seat and instrument panel were undamaged). And finally... paint! I have chosen a sexy blue/grey scheme like lots of Russian planes have. Im only afraid the decaling will take a week or so, there are TONS of it.

Well now you know there's an upper limit to how long you can leave Maskol on for.
