I think I could eat an elephant or two faster than this...lol. Taking it slowly... Another night of adding stencils and all I have to say is...

Maybe the stencils were actually part of some experimental disruptive camoflage...

It's disrupting my sanity. I just keep thinking...wow someone had to paint these dang things on.

It's disrupting my sanity. I just keep thinking...wow someone had to paint these dang things on. My Sprue Brothers order came in yesterday - in addition to the Eduard burner cans (which are very nice) and cockpit for the new Revell Fw 190 (made as a drop-fit replacement!), I also got a set of Zotz's 1/32 F-4B/J airframe stencils. Guh. It's like two full-size sheets.

I don't envy you on those stencils. At least in 1/32 they will be a little more manageable...maybe? I saw they FW cockpit when I was browsing over the weekend. It looks really nice, so I'll be getting it for sure. (Surprisingly the Aires set for the Hasegawa Dora was very much drop in).
Those Eduard cans are nice. I almost ordered the J kit and extras..but I figure they have to do a "Good Morning" Type boxing...so I'm holding off.

They've already done "Good Morning" and "Good Evening". I'm guessing the next will be "Goodbye, Da Nang"?
Still really hoping we'll see Academy do some long-nose Phantoms. I bet they'll announce an F-4G right after I put mine in the display case.

That's how it works. Yeah...they'll have to call it something else..."Goodbye" is a good guess. On another front...someone posted this in a thread at Britmodeller With the caption: "Hey!! "The rumored mock-up of the double engine-jet fighter" is finally here! Developer T is indeed explaining carefully for a reason. This is the first time we show this mock-up! If you come to IPMS Ohio, at Zoukei-mura booth, you'll have much more time to see it. Dear fans coming to the event, you're going to be surprised. Look forward to it!!" So that's not a long nose...like I hoped for...someone has to do one...seems stupid to ignore them if you're already churning out the other variants...at least to me...

Yeah, seriously. New noses and wings and you're pretty much there minus a few small details.

Ok, this one has lingered too long. Had a bit of a funk and some bench burnout, but that seems to have passed. The stencils took five bench sessions. That was just for the sake of my sanity. When they were all done I gave it a gloss coat and a panel line was with Ammo of Mig and some subtle streaking. Coated it with Alclad Light Sheen. I've started adding fiddly bits. I need to do some airbrush work, but my compressor crapped out Friday, so I've ordered a new one I expect Tuesday.

Some damn fine painting there brotha! Sorry to hear about the compressor...go one here on the way out I think. Add that to Bill's AB issues and I think something might be in the water...LOL!!

Thanks gentlemen.
T, this is the second compreasor in 5 years. I'm not sure if that's good or not. Lol. The last one was a pancake style shop compreasor. Noisy as heck. Not too loud to bother the house if my fave door was closed but load enough to bug me when it ran. Ordered a quiet hobby one this time around. Honestly I was glad to see it go. Just don't tell the wife she'll think I broke it on purpose.

Looking very nice. Bought a Sil air 25 years ago and it's still top notch. Marcel.

Can't blame you for wanting to break up those stencils into multiple sessions. Well worth the effort though! Your MiG Killer is looking, well, killer!

Thanks folks. This one is really lingering at the bench, but it's been worth it. I'm no longer in any hurry to churn out kits, but she's close!

All done folks. This one is headed to print, so not too many photos. Verdict? The Academy kit is an improvement over the aging but still good Hasegawa kit. The single piece fuselage and surface detail are what makes it a winner for me. Not perfect, but dang nice. Aftermarket: Eduard: Brassin weapons set (Sparrow, Sidewinders and bombs), Brassin exhaust, Brassin wheels, fabric harnesses. DEF Models FOD Covers Steel Beach Slime Lights Aires Seats (the cockpit tub didn't fit) Microscale Decals for OY 463 (kit stencils)

Thanks everyone. You're too kind. I think I hear wedding bells. This would be a perfect time to discuss the dowry then. Maybe send some of those closing hobby shop deals this way
