Ok, I have lost my mind.............wait............have to have one of those first in order to loose it...........anyway my wingy thing really started to bore the poo out of me. I went looking in the stash and saw this flipping me off on the shelf. I flipped it off and grabbed it. This build is going to be really, really freaking long as the kit is huge. So we begin! Box which is bench bending big: A lot of sprues..............no really there's a lot: all sorts of tires, cables and hoses: and about a pound of PE. you are only seeing half of it I didn't bother to flip the cards over: Yep..........IM FREAKING NUTS! When I think of the extra stuff which will or is available for this Beast, one can get crazy... Where are the good days of out of the box builds! This kit here looks extreme well and promising. Think of those giant kits of even bigger originals they offer these days and it seems Paradise Doors are wide open! Can´t wait for the progess!

Andy - thank you for further confirmation brother......LMAO. It will be, lots of tiny bits, took over an hour to assemble to little cross members for the frame.
Frank - One would wounder why to buy AM for this kit. the PE alone is almost a pound..............LOL. I have seen resin wheels for this but not at $80..............lol. It is good to see a lot of manufacturers added PE and resin to some of their kits now, I personally would like to see more Model Kasten type tracks in tank kits.

I'm with you - this thing is complex enough without adding additional (tiny) parts!

Yeah, I can imagine that some folks superdetail kits to death. But no wonder when I see what is available as PE and Resin Sets for different tasks. The hardest stuff is, for me, the figure add ons from Aber, gear, glasses and many more. Even a 1:35 helmet has more straps and thingies I could imagine. Totally weird!

So the real question is what are you going to pair it with in terms of it hauling?

Frank - totally agree buddy. It freaking mind boggling.

Now THAT'S a pile-o-plastic. Just think how good you'll be at weathering tire at the end.

An M-1 put on will be the build within the build. That is what keeps me a bit away from such projects, the extra work! And when you add some figures, too, ...gulp!

Good morning Bob, Brother it is good to see the kit has finally made it from on high in the stash to the bench. Ooooooooh this is gonna be good. So after you put an M1 on it and then the figures ya just gotta put in on a base. Dave

That's the problem with these tank transporters...you have to build a tank, too! And Dave is right - base almost definitely required. Big, heavy, and awkward by the time you're done.

Dave - thanks for adding to the project brother...............that's why I love ya............LOL Dupes - Dave doesn't know it yet but he's building the base...........LOL OK, two days in and the frame is almost done, I say that cause I turned the page on the instructions and fell out of the chair. More on the way gents. Bob

Got to start somewhere! Not sure if these also hauled Bradleys but you could consider that as an option too vs. an Abrams.

I cringe every time I look at one of these. My convoy security team spent an unreal amount of time chasing these around Bagdhad in 09, and MOST of the FOBs and COPs we went to were not designed to have one of these things go through their ECPs (entry control point). I personally witnessed one particularly bad day where a driver took out all the tires on one side of the trailer going into the base, and all of the tires on the OTHER SIDE going out! suffice to say, he spent the next TWO WEEKS breaking tires off beads and replacing them. I have one of these kits in the stash, and it might have to come to it that I get it out and try after watching you !!!

fhvn4d - Oh yeah busting beads on tires. remember doing that on my 2 1/2 Duce and my 5 ton, what a collective pain in the ass. Cannot imagine doing all of the tires on this beast HOLY CRAP! Well got some more progress done. Axels are taking about an hour per axel. Front: Axel 2-2 almost completed: Break tomorrow as I leave for the Seattle show in Renton Washington. Probably wont be back at the bench till Sunday evening. Ill have lots of photos for you consumption...........LOL Bob

Frame has been primed along with the two completed axels. This beast will have to be painted and assembled in stages as to the freaking size. Working on the other tractor axels now.
