Thanks for those links Dupes! A 1/60 Urban Mech! How Cute! I use to play the table top game with the hex board and dice rolling back in high school. I also played the PC game quite a bit. Remeber how hard it was to set up your weapon groups as soon as you launched but before you got shot. No problem! I was going to crack into the Urbie as soon as I got it, but am having trouble finding a paint scheme I like (that's a recurring theme with my BT builds). Table top game is where it's at! I'm working on a template to make hex bases for all of my builds...just trying to decide how big they need to be to fit every mech (the big guys are VERY big) without dwarfing the smaller 20-ton guys. Man, I totally forgot about the weapon grouping issue until you mentioned it (mostly been playing MW4 recently) - but it's all coming back to me now!

Woooooow...been a while since I've seen this! Even more primitive than I remember. Always wondered why the Madcat didn't want to fire his ppcs at the second Thor in the intro movie. Worried about heat? Hah.

Cool, the robots leave no footprints and there are no impacts in the rocks. Interesting...
As for kits, today I have seen pics of the DUST kits and those tiny Black Dog robot kits. Maybe I will take something like a Luther and see what can be done with them...

Wow, talk about a blast from the past! I absolutely loved this game, and it it still one of my favourite PC games ever. Talk about a blast of nostalgia! I watched about an hour of the walkthrough and all the memories came flooding back! Got so full of nostalgia, I did a Youtube search for the MW2 soundtrack and found it! Huzzah! I remember it wasn't long after I finished this game that I bought a 3DFX card for my Pentium 133 and it came with an "upgraded" version of MW2. They had added a whole bunch of shading, moving clouds, etc, and I was absolutely blown away by how cool it looked! Of course nowadays it looks super basic, but this was back in the infancy of 3D graphics. The card I bought was a Diamond Monster. It cost me around $500, had (I think) 8Mb of RAM, and needed to be piggy backed onto the standard 2D card because it was only capable of doing the 3D stuff. I thought it was the best thing ever! I played MW2 through a second time just so I could look at all the "awesome" graphics! Cheers, Sam

Hey, I'm only two months behind in replying...I remember doling out the extra ca$h to upgrade to a Pentium 166 when I was building my MW2 machine. That and the 17" CRT monitor. Biggest on the block!

Next mech finished! Tim's 20 ton Flea moved onto the shelf. Got a couple more of his mechs on deck unless something else cries out to me a bit louder. More to come!

Another mech headed to the shelf - this time a Bushwacker. Threw in some infantry I'd been working on...will re-shoot pics when the basing is complete.

Going to throw this guy in here for reference purposes, but not in the gallery. Why? This kit, while ostensibly 1/60, is definitely not! The MWO scaling is most likely the culprit (making it a lot closer to 1/72 or so), but despite the reasons this just doesn't fit in the lineup with the "true" 28mm mechs. Bummer. Cool design and a great kit from SMTK anyway.

No doubt, Leon! And just think - I've still got the worst part of winter (at least around here) ahead of me!

I know it. What I wouldn't do for a Warhammer or Rifleman in 1/60!

I think I like this the best... it just reminds me of combined R2D2 and Mech!

Hahaha...true! A lot of people say the Urbie reminds them of a walking trash can (sort of like R2!).
