LOL...that's the spirit!! Grip-n-rip!! As an added bonus, Sharon suggested I order a 2nd airbrush (cheaper plastic body version) via Amazon since we have reward points there to have as a backup and keep me more or less in business in the interim. She said it was 'like a magician without a wand' She definitely qualifies as my beautiful assistant though. Should have it by Tuesday, so won't be as long of a delay as otherwise.

Airbrush took the summer off. Gotta remember that one so I have something to blame when I try the spray a German mottled in 144th scale and it sucks

In an effort to make the most of my short-term lack of an airbrush, I was still able to sniff some thinner and work on the tools and equipment details a bit for the rear deck. The clamps aren't painted yet as I won't know what colors they need until the camo scheme is on of course. Progress is progress though and Amazon says I will get my substitute/backup AB on Tuesday the 30th, so all is not lost.

Thanks Leon! I had everything all lined up to take advantage of the weekend to do the disc camo but it wasn't to be. Internet to the rescue though. Carl, thanks for stopping by and the comments.

I always find Amazon ships faster 5hen they say,you might even have it monday. Quite possible Anthony, all depends on where it's shipping from. I've even had stuff delivered on a Sunday via the USPS service a couple of times.

Nice looking tools. And that's saying something considering how many times I've been called a "tool".

Glad to see you got a backup.. I may have some extra tips/inserts for that air brush. I'll take a look around, If I do you can have them. I have no clue where they came from, Just showed up one day in my parts box. Guess it was the AB Fairy.
If I remember right they are pink and/or orange

Thanks Leon! BJ, I've been meaning to get a backup for some time, this just provided the necessary push to finally make it happen. Thanks for the offer on the tips, happy to take them off your hands if you find them. There's a whole variety of tips with different nozzle diameters and effects. The pink is a spatter tip IIRC and the orange is a large diameter tip designed for wide area coverage. I've never used the pink but I regularly use the orange for spraying things like Future coats for example.

Got the replacement AB squared away and let some paint fly today. First order of business was laying down a primer coat. I used Testors MM enamel Italian Dark Brown to ensure there wouldn't be any unpainted plastic areas in the nooks and crannies and to check seams and such. This will get a chance to cure and then it's on to getting the camo scheme broad pattern sections laid down.

Looking sharp... safe to say that color is one of your favorites. Goes on smooth and easy, provides a nice contrast for the follow-on coats for base colors or camo, and covers putty and brass equally well. All the things primer's supposed to do!
