Hopefully. I say that because I'm not sure I have all the correct details in my head for this. Here we go... Lots to do. SBS T-72A turret, RB (I think) barrel, Voyage details and skirts, Friul tracks and some mods. I really didn't want to spend anymore money on this and wanted to do the mods myself. Originally I planned on modifying the turret, but, yeah... For the front of the hull, I cut out the welded armor section, lowered it to match with the rest of the hull, glued and started filling. I broke off the very small part of plastic at the very front, so I have a little more work to do there to fix it. I will redrill holes and scratch all the lost details, which isn't too much. If you see me doing something wrong or have something I need to do with this, please let me know. I will very much appreciate the help on this one.

Please excuse the lack of updates. I knew this was going to be a slow build. Then this hapened... Yep, that's me. Yep, that's my car. Yep, that's water draining from EVERYWHERE! Needless to say, I haven't been in mood to build.

Well that would certainly cause an abrupt change in plans! Sorry to hear about the car troubles, hopefully you can get it back in running order without too much trouble.

So, honestly, this has been done since August. I spent most of the first half of the year working on it when I could. When I was done building I didn't want to look at it for a while and put it aside. The Voyager kit has tons of size issues and I found myself looking online at references more then actually building at times. Some of the parts are badly oversized. Primer and paint will start very soon. I use a high quality automotive self etching primer on models with a lot of pe and metal, but I haven't been able to get to the store that sells it. They are open the same hours I work.

Thank you. It's nice to get it done. Motivation on projects like this can be hard to find. With the Meng and Trumpeter kits out it was hard for me to not start one and put this away for ever. I told myself I could not start any new T-72 or T-90 until this one was finished. Primer- Green next. I haven't decided what exact colors to use yet. I'm setting a goal of having the base coat on by no later then Wednesday.

I like this primer. It dries very thin and covers great. And it's cheaper then Tamiya or Mr Surfacer. That can is 15.5 ounces for about 20 bucks. The other 2 are 12 to 15 bucks for 5-6 ounces.

So I started painting yeaterday and found a couple problems. The grills filled in with glue and primer. Uaually not a big deal, but these grills from Voyager are crazy small and very delicate. Just poking them with a needle wasn't working and stretching them. I had to remove them. And because they are so delicate... both are no longer able to be used. I will have to make the originals from the kit work. Meh. There are little bits of ca around some of the pe parts that I missed after I primed it. So over the next few nights I'll be fixing these. It felt really good to get paint on this thing finally. From the initial thought of building this to this point has been about five years.

Thanks, the color is Mr color 303. That seems to be the go to russian green for Trumpeter/Hobbyboss. No updates for a while because I've been playing around with some premade weathering products. I don't usually use them, but they do make it easier. Fixed the grills. I think the Tamiya kit grills may look better. I'll paint tonight or tomorrow, depends on how I feel.

Ok, paint is going well. Got all the green on and have started fading. Adding drops of flat yellow in, nothing special. It's hard to tell with that lighting, the past couple of models I've done, I've faded the green a little more then what a lot of people think is proper. Once all the weathering goes on, the models seem a little dark for my tastes. So I've been taking a little more time here and adding a few more layers of lighter colors. Something cool I've found, the Meng wheel stencils fit perfectly on the Tamiya wheels... I don't know if people know that or not, I just though it was cool when I tried it and it fit. Next up decals.

This cold war beastie is looking mighty slick. It was good to see all of the work that went into it prior to priming.
