Keep up the good work! BTW, did you use a lower pressure when you used the wheel mask? Thanks, Joel.

Joel, I usually spray everything at high pressure. It's just what I like. I also have been using mr. Color leveling thinner 400 with the mr. color paint. That combo of paint, thinner and pressure basically make it so you have to do thin layers and go over an area multipule times. Instead of one layer that could orange peel or any other nasty issue. The black on the skirts is a very thick oil wash brushed on. I love doing this, it makes painting these areas so much easier and looks great. There are rough and smooth areas that, to me, look more realistic. All of the base paint, decals and colors are done. Now I start weathering. I'm not sure where I want to go with it. I don't want to weather it too much, but there are a few areas where a little mud can cover issues that I no longer want to address. Start with a wash and go from there.

Forgot, there are 2 layers of an olive green filter on it in that picture. I felt the fading was just a hint too much so I tried to tone it down just a bit.

Thanks guys. No update for the past week. I've been experimenting with putting linseed oil drops in my oil washes. Well I put to much in on the first pass and I've been waiting for it to dry before I go on. I've found the linseed oil helps the color stay better and helps the paint stay wet longer. Only problem, I wasn't really paying attention when I mixed the wash and put in about double what I normally add. Caught it as the last drop went in. This was Tuesday night and it was still wet yesterday. I haven't checked today yet, but it's safe to assume I've got a few more days.

Update... Basically I've been working on making it dirty and nasty. I'll start dirt and mud sometime this week. Right now I'm working on fuel stains and grime. Next I will mix some pigment into the grime to make it really nasty. This is the fun part for me!

Great work. Your highlighting in the first stages really helped to make the look not to dark.

Thanks guys. It's all done now. I'll post some pics soon. Honestly, I started to hate this model.

It's all a "love-hate" thing, isn't it? I wanted to ask where you purchased the SBS turret from? I'm moving along in fits and spurts with the same kit, and wanted to end up with either the same thing you're doing, or the T-72 Ural.

I had to think about it for a minute, I believe I got the turret from Hobby Link Japan. It's been a couple of years since I bought it.

Pretty darn cool.... too bad it turns out that the T-72 series is the LEAST fearsome tank ever...... you literally could disable one with a crowbar if you got close enough... Very cool build PJ2

Very cool build PJ2 Thanks. I need to start looking for something as I really don't want to try and correct the Tamiya turret, and the old DML kit I have seems to have the same under-size turret as well.
