Anyone have experience stripping paint from resin? I received a kit (that I've been after for a long time) that's already covered...want to get it back to square one and start over. Anything special I need to know with resin vs plastic? Does Easy-Off work on this as well?
Thanks!

You should be able to treat it like you treat plastic Dupes! Easy off would work if that is your standard. I almost want o say test it if you can depending on the type of resin used in the kit but I have stripped back a few things and had no issues. I have also used denatured alcohol before and a toothbrush...stinky but effective.
Anthony (foenetik) bought some stuff a while back that worked like a charm. I think he showed it in one of his builds...F1 or Russian tractor. Maybe he will stop in or drop him a note!

one thing to note, it will remove putties so if they filled any holes it may remove it but itll give you a chance to do it your way glue seems to be fine though

Huh. After a google search, I'm finding that that bottle looks pretty familiar - I think the LHS might actually have that in stock. Monday supply trip!

i dunno why it desolves putty. its not that harsh. i use my bare hands in it quite often to grab parts and it just dries them out a bit. its a lot less toxic than easy off, thats for sure lol i can also say, i had NO luck with easy off on my f1 and this stuff worked in 15 mins. its really amazing stuff.

Resin is unaffected by M.E.K. But this stuff is the active ingredient in most liquid cement, so it will melt most plastics. Home Depot sells it by the quart and gallon sizes.

I bet that would get the job done in about two minutes, no?

I bet that would get the job done in about two minutes, no? Yes! About 6 seconds, actually. I had a badly painted resin figure which needed to be redone. A stiff brush, heavy with M.E.K. was applied and the paint came loose and fell off in big pieces in about 6 seconds. I finished it off with a shallow M.E.K. bath. Clean figure in about one minute.
