In the next few days I will be starting a new project. Notice I didn't a big project I will be doing a pair of 1/144th Fw190D-9s for an article in SAM Publications. I won't be able to post full blown wip pics but a teaser or 2 may pop up. 1 of the builds will have a few scratched detail while the other with have a Brengun PE set... cockpit, flaps... the works. Had to drag out the darn giant penny again

The Return of the Giant Penny! Should be a fun pair to work on Marc. Looking forward to the end result. Don't forget to eat plenty of peanut butter over the next couple of days so you have the bases for them ready in time.

1 scratched and 1 PE cockpit. the consoles in the scratched pit are scans of colored PE. I had to play with contrast etc to get the stuff to be able to be seen once I scaled it down. The It's not as blue as it looks in the photo and it will be in a closed canopy bird. Air frames basically done. Again, 1 with PE details added and the other with some scratched stuff.

In this scale I guess all progress is "small" I wanted to try doogs black basing technique in 144th scale. I knew there was no way in the world I was going to be able to AB a squiggly pattern in wings that wings jut 1 1/2 long each. So I thought of trying sponging the base tones. 1st a basic BxW paint job the the opposite colors sponged on. A few light coats and Bob's your uncle, some nice tonal variation. No giant penny for scale but the BBQ skewer looking thing is your basic toothpick

The sponge approach in this small of a scale seems to have done the trick Marc. Nice tonal variations especially in the lighter green areas. Three thumbs up (since you have your hands full!)

Thanks Joe. I just saw in you Black 19 thread that this is your favorite aircraft. Mine too. I my absence I did mange to make so slow progress. 1 down... 1 to go. The landing gear indicators were made from #96 (0.006") drill bits. While very brittle I wanted something stiff (Don't even say it)

Thanks Bill. I don't know how much further I can go. I'll have to wait until they develop Quantum Modeling. Detailing on the molecular scale.
