This is something I have sculpted for "daily use" so to say. It is a biomechanic case for a lighter. I took a normal metal case for lighters as the center of the sculpt and sculpted something gigeresque/alienesque around it. It was done for my wife (she smokes!) for daily use. But I had not forseen that I have to make casts of it and it has to be hollow and... you know the problem. So it looks like it will be a one of a kind (not to mention the problems with the paintjob. I think, all paint will be rubed of when you use it, hell!). You can put the standart lighter in the thing and get a lot of questions and "Ahs!" and "Ohs!". But believe me, that was cool, even with the unpainted thing! For now, I have ideas for around 10 different lighter cases in different designs (and none of them would be biomechanic) as for several frames, even smartphone cases. Tons of stuff to make look cooler, harhar! Frank

That's Wild! What about casting it as two separate pieces? Given the random style of the "bio-sculpt" I think it would be pretty easy to hide the seams along the edge of a tube or artery or muscle group. Casting resin is easily colored with special additives.
Don't give up so easily. This could be a great idea for your own personal product line.

Bruce, thanks man! It is always interesting to do stuff nobody expects! And this here take birth after thinking a bit and seeing those "normal" standart lighters! John: Thanks! You are right, I think I will give it a try someday. I am really interested in molding and casting some of my stuff (have done reliefs, but that is easy) till now and sometimes I must face it, hehe! Lucas: Sure, this is really easy. Let your imagination flow and the rest comes in easy.

Pretty cool concept and 'conversation piece' approach! Would it not be possible to use a clear eurythane type of coating on any paint work to sheathe/protect it from handling wear?

Bill, I have thought about that, maybe some clear resin as a protection shield? Maybe I will try this some day! Thanks for your positive feedback!!
