My only gripe is that its exceedingly difficult for me to keep it in the tube without drying out. Using the provided applicator lets too much air back in and I find mine dried up all time time !

I put a plastic profile in the hole - no problems. Something similar should work too.

It really is, Leon. First, I was a bit sceptic to be honest. I tried several putties over the years (like others too, I think). Many promise certain characteristics (doesnt shrink, odourless, easy to use etc.), but some cant keep it. Even worse, theyre often really expensive. I like to save money, but when something makes life easier, Im always willing to pay a little extra. From my point of view, every putty I used so far had at least one negative characteristic. It smelled bad, it shrinks (MrSurfacer does even both ), it gets crumbly or rubbery when its dry, and even worse... it attacks the plastic some time, if you get the "right" putty. For example, I was really disappointed when I used MrHobby putty. A big brand, and its not what I expected. Worst putty ever: Revell Plasto. Just my 5 cents, different people will have different experiences of course. Perfect Plastic Putty costs about 6€/40ml here in Germany, and so far it keeps everything they promise. Water based, odourless, easy to use and - very important, because this causes extra work every time: clean fingers and it really doesnt shrink. And even better: it dries fast. So far, so good.

Thanks for the tip. I have ordered some to give it a try. They make some good products.
