Well yesterday, I finally broke down and bought the China Clipper from Tasca/Asuka. Kit's as expected; very nice. Decals were somewhat disappointing, but still nice. Looks like it builds one tank instead of two or three. Kit came with a bunch of resin stowage that looked to be very well done. Still would rather had an M4a2.
For a $64 dollar kit I felt the lone figure was comparable to a forty dollar kit. Not a big deal, but they could have done a little more here. No metal 75mm barrel! Yet some photo etch. The tools were done nicely, but the tie downs were lacking. Nothing here is a thing to kill the deal, but could have been added.
Liked the kit well enough to maybe pick up a second one, but also know I'll need some more A.M. to pull it off. Interestingly they had another new Sherman (to me anyway). It was a basic cast hull M4 with the 75mm gun. Just looked kinda generic. But still probably a great kit. I didn't really consider it, but it maybe a better setup to build "In The Mood."

You got my hopes up there for a minute Gary - but no, it is another Sherman

Went up north yesterday afternoon, more to get a couple things at Golf Smith than anything else. Looked to see if the hobby shop next door had the new Sherman, and they didn't! They did have the M32 kit, but wasn't interested as it's all wrong for my needs. There is a new kit out in Japan, and have heard they may do Fury or In The Mood. I'll be all over in the mood.
I did come home with two aircraft kits. gary

Never leave a hobby shop empty-handed if you can help it Gary! Otherwise you're just burning gas, right?

Never leave a hobby shop empty-handed if you can help it Gary! Otherwise you're just burning gas, right? Well I was looking to see if they had the new Thunderbolt kit from Asuka. I have the two Dragon kits, but would rather have the Asuka. Still want them to come back out with the M4a2. Also watching for the new Rye Field Forman Tiger. Call me "forever poor!" gary
