Hi Ya Paul!! First thing though, I would have to ask would be for which vehicle? I am no expert by any stretch of the imagination, however, a few quick searches reveal loads of information into the effect of explosions in turrets. For one example, a lot of Russian KO's Not to mention other tanks) result in ammunition cooking off and subsequently blowing the turret off and flipping it upside down, sticking in the ground like a lollypop or just upside down on the ground. However this is not to say if the initial hit caused this damage or the resulting cook off. For Discussion Purposes OnlyFor Discussion Purposes OnlyCooking off would give also just give you the utter destruction and melting from the intense heat Like in this CH47 . Crashed and cooked off. For Discussion Purposes OnlySometimes the turret would blow apart, like woth the effect of the KV-1, T-34 show here... For Discussion Purposes OnlyFor Discussion Purposes OnlyThese are not necessarily Ammo Cook off. One has been it, the other just a ruptured fuel cell. The one that was hit looks in better condition. Ko'ed first... For Discussion Purposes OnlyFuel Cell Rupture... For Discussion Purposes OnlyFor Discussion Purposes OnlyNone of this show any clear cut answer to the Ammo Cook off question except to maybe conclude that the end result is never the same at least from what I can tell. I would love to see others come forth with more information bringing this subject to light! Good luck Paul!! Just for fun, this is a fake cook off....but impressive just the same!!

Thank you for those T, I was thinking more specifically of ones like the Abrams and Chally etc, and the roof panels that are designed to venbt any explosion up & out in the event of a cook off.
Thankgs again though - Saved them away for future reference. Cheers P
