Evenin all. My next project has begun. A hanger for my Bandai Falcon. This will be 100% scratch built. My little Bro made the frame for it all to sit in. Here it be The whole thing will be very well lit. I have a string of 200 LEDs i picked up over Xmas. The hanger surround entrance will be lit all the way around The LEDs will sit in trunking between the entrance walls Then covered in opaque plasticard. The floor is 3 sheets of clear red and green acrylic Then i cut a sheet of matt black fablon to shape and cut the deck markings out. A boat load of LEDs will be under the acrylic to give this effect. I'm putting a door in at the back of the hanger. I'd like it open but theres only 10mm of clearance behind it so ive had a crack at a forced perspective corridor I'll make the final decision nearer the end

Awesome concept.......
I consider myself a "star wars": geek.... But I got NO clue as to the landing bay name... I think they said the name of the bay in the original SW before the upgrades......I think as the Falcon was being pulled in

Well, from the R09 registry number it could be either the old "Audacious"-class HMS Ark Royal or the new HMS Prince of Wales...
Cheers,

A bit more work done. I want corridors running around the walls, all lit from above. Here my first basic design Ive also cut the opening out for the forced perspective corridor and another with the door closed. And with some lights in the walls I'm also putting a control room on the back wall overlooking the hanger. Much to no ones surprise, this too will be lit

Evenin all. I was looking at the corridor. As a prrof of concept it was ok and showed it could work. This is me first effort Looks ok but the vanishing point is in the wrong place. So then i made MK2 Better but still not quite there. So step up MK3 And with the lights on Finally the whole hanger will be lit from above. The central light will be held in place by 15mm square trunking forming a cross across the top. Holes will be cut in the trunking so they illuminate along their whole lengths. They will all meet in the middle to support the central unit which is this Its the top of a air freshener jar/bowl thingy sprayed silver on the inside.

A bit more work done on the lighting. I've mocked up one of the corridors lining the walls and the over head lights. And this is how the Falcon looks lit purely by the LEDS I think it's working out quite nicely
