Ok ready to rock and roll after the aircraft disaster I would rather not reflect on. So on to the next build. I have Tamiyas Easy 8 on the shelf for over a year and its time. Got some extra fiddlies and fruils are on the way I am contemplating using this base. I opened it up and it has a severe case of acne......no really.....it does, hundreds of little resin tiny resin balls all over it....stop laughing! More on the way. Bob

Nice kit! assembles very easy if you take the radical step of following the instructions. I like the Tamiya version due to the clarity of the instructions, Joel.

Thanks all, sorry for the delay getting pics up. Build is pretty much straight forward. Hull is multiple pieces but go together with no issues. the rest is Tamiya shake and bake. Fruils finally arrived periscope guards installed Lower hull completed Turret completed, interesting there are no tabs on the turret to align when installing into the lower hull, it kind of snaps into place. Have some final clean up on the road wheels and off to the booth for primer and some color. Stay tuned Bob

Leon - they are awesome, a bit fragile but as long as caution is used you are good. I dinged them up so they look a bit askew as combat probably would have bent some up a bit.

A cost effective suggestion for periscope guards is the ones offered by Shapeways, you get a whole load fairly cheap. Killer build are you going to keep the tank ETO?

Hi all; Got some more progress done. Finally got primer and OD on and managed to get it clear coated: Fruils are taking time as there is a tremendous amount of clean up on these. I dont use the brass wire or any .05 metal wire, I prefer to use staples....yes.......staples. Normal ones will do, just bend one side flat. They work fantastic and being they are flat they bite into the soft metal and stay in place: One of the modeling things I always have an issue with finding are boxes, Im talking MREs modern and WW II from allied to axis and cases of things like modern water and soda. I was poking around on the interwebs to see if I could find some stuff one night and came across Quicksand prints and I can say man this is the sh!t. No more worries about boxes and crap. Book 4 has 32 pages, yes 32 containing Three typs of US WWII C-rats K-rats, German, modern Israeli, Spanish, Arab its got it all, along with the MRE box some have a page of the meal boxes that go in the case. The 1940s coke cases are a gem: Book 5 has all the modern Beer, soda, water that you will ever need again about 32 pages worth: Here is the link to the site: www.hobbyworld-e.com/HWINICIO/HOBBYWORLD.htmlGo to the middle of the page and click on quicksand prints. US shipment takes about a week and a half. They also have a wide selection of items covering scifi, armor and stuff. Now back to track clean up. Bob

Hi all; Some small progress over the past week. managed to get the tracks completed. there was a ton of clean up needed hence the delay in posting pics. I was getting ready to get the M2HB ready and as i am looking at the Tascas which I was going to use as a replacement, I looked at them and said this looks familiar........Indeed, Tamiya packaged the Tasca M2HB...LOL Getting ready to begin washes and weathering today and some work on the stowage and some vintage Coke boxes Bob

Leon - thanks brother Charley - thank you Well in between job searches and some part time work I managed to get the E8 completed. just a fun build all around. Next is the base. I had mentioned earlier in my posts that this thing had a bad case of acne. Well, what your looking at is not even a fraction. There are literally thousands of these all over the place and in every nook, cranny and nether regions. It will take weeks if not months to get this all removed. I worked an hour on a 3x3 inch space. The wall sections are good. for the sake of the project I am going to order another base, as I am in between other projects ill get the pimples removed in time and use tit for another project as the base is sweet. So phase two will be working on the figgies. Bob
