I've never done anything from the Pacific Theater of Operations before so I guess it's high time I did. The major players 007 by Mark Hartig, on Flickr 008 by Mark Hartig, on Flickr The Type 97 went together and got primed in 4-5 hours and will be modeled as knocked out but not burnt. They did not always catch fire. The Sherman will be pretty much OOB and while the reviews don't paint it as a rivet counter's dream it'll be good enough for me. Regards, Mark

WOW! You are rolling! At first I thought you were requesting for Personal Time Off aka PTO and I was going to approve of course!
Count me in... it is going to be fun!

Both are looking good!
The hole is the muzzle end of a smoke mortar. The loader was responsible for it's use.

I like the builds you have going on here. The tri-tone on the Japanese tank is especially nice.

Thanks gents I once read a story about a Marine tank crew who came ashore with a damaged main gun muzzle that was unsafe to fire. Since they and their M4 were needed badly they cut about 8" off the gun with a hacksaw blade, they did not have a saw frame and they only had one blade. The spare turret makes me think of trying to reproduce that incident but I don't remember the model of M4, the island it occurred on, or the unit they belonged to. I must try to find out, it'd make a pretty good 3D story. Anyway, the 97 is close 004 by Mark Hartig, on Flickr So is the M4 002 by Mark Hartig, on Flickr Base size and eventual arrangement 003 by Mark Hartig, on Flickr Both vehicles need further track adjustment and of course dust and dirt, the 97 especially as it'll be modeled as sitting by a road. Need tools on the M4 also, and I think the .30 might be sitting too high at the commander's hatch. I've found no solution to the crew as of yet, all figure sets I've found are molded dressed in a manner that would boil a man to death within an hour in the tropics. Getting close to a stall here, and perhaps this is why I've not done a Pacific Theatre theme before Regards, Mark

Thanks gents
Crew trouble solved, Italieri's PT boat crew and MiniArt's DAK tank crew. Between the two, I should be able to come up with four figures. Also got some jungle weeds on the way for the eventual base, all should be arriving within a couple weeks and this will get rolling again
Regards, Mark
