I only created a cursory blog of this build and my website is a bit of a jumble right now due to ongoing reconstruction, But you can see the whole set of pictures here: www.coldbasementmodels.com/?page_id=2265Here's a preview:

I like it, John. You say it's 1/48 scale but to give me a better idea, what's the size of the base?

Man...another cool SW project. You're killing me!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that a Star TREK kit you used as a base to work from?

Man...another cool SW project. You're killing me! Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that a Star TREK kit you used as a base to work from? That's right. It began as the DS-9 Defiant kit from AMT. (I've been calling it a "genre" reassignment surgery.) Someone was asking about the size of the base. I don't have measurements. But this should provide a good estimate.

Wrong universe infidel! Sheldon Cooper will whip your bum with force. The nerd has spoken! Oh, and truly amazing BTW... I've been telling everyone that it's a "genre" reassignment surgery. And I'm also pretty sure that the Trek Enterprise has made one or two Easter egg appearances in a few of the Star Wars films. One has to figure that the overlap of talent which produce these movies is pretty significant.

Spontaneously I can't think of any easter eggs, but you might be right. I think George Lukas even admitted Star Trek influence once in an interview.
I'm missing the times when the special effects were still a question of making models and not of CPU performance.

'Tis t'other way round... The "Falcon" appears in the initial battle with the Borg in "Star Trek:First Contact":

Although I 'm against placing or designing a diorama with everything parallel with the sides of the base, this one has a lot of work and looks great. Kudos.
