How did you make the tarp on the M3?

So much work put into this whole thing. Everywhere you look there is just detail on top of detail and it's not even finished yet. I'm with Tobi on wondering how you did the tarp on the vehicle. I've heard mixed things about the CMK Volkswagen but yours seemed to have come out very well. The base is pretty much the showcase of the whole thing especially being that you carved most of it out. There's some good talent on display here Dan.

What more will you be doing to consider this finished? It looks excellent so far. I really like the paint/weathering on the VW. Nice work all around.
Cheers, C.

Thank you everyone for taking a peek and commenting. The tarp was made with kleenex tissue paper and Elmer's white glue. White paper strips were white glued on for strap ties. The volkswagon went together well, othen than the glass, so I dusted it up to hopefully not distract from the windows. I used a pneumatic pencil grinder with a fine burr to etch the letters and carve out the floral patterns on the archway. The bricks were layed out with a height gage to keep them uniform. The carving of the road was the easiest to do. I used a compass and etched the circles then cut in the "spokes." I used a scalpel to slice the square bricks for the sidewalks. The denser foam worked well for the stone walls and the soft foam was excellent for the road, sidewalks. Unfortunately, I never finished this one.

I had this idea that thes soldiers were chasing a suspected collaborator in a park in Paris, and he had fled on foot from the volkswagon. I wss going to add some minor details like papers, a dropped brief case or discarded jacket. Then also finishing the base with wood trim.
