Hey Gang! A guy I know as Mustang 1989, AKA 406 Silverado Joe, dropped me a note on another forum asking if I'd stop by. It's a relaxing Saturday night and I've got clear coat drying so thought I'd pop in. Ended up stopping in on the tips and trick (or something like that) page and saw I could add something to a post so I signed up Me, I build everything Love to do custom work, scratch building, and I've gotten into making some bases, including some deep ocean stuff (I wonder if ModelCrazy is over here yet? He taught me the water base work originally). Anyway, I'm also all about color. hate those low viz schemes, give me the blueberry Navy working uniform anytime And last I love building Marine themed anything, hell it's in my heritage so I just gotta ;-) All right that's about as much social epitaph this engineer can do lol See you guys on the forum!

Great to see you here Chris and it is wonderful to hear from you. It will be so good to get caught up with you and see what you have been up to. everyone here is in for a real treat regarding your skills and talents. I do hope you have been well as well as the family. For everyone's knowledge, Chris here is notorious for having absolutely cleaned up at the Las Vegas Nats raffles. It was truly epic. Cheers my good friend. Good to have the gang gathering again. Joe

Hi, Tom M reporting in. I got 406 Silverado's invite and thought I look in. My previous computer morted itself a couple of years back and I lost most of my bookmarks and passwords with it, I didn't go looking for MSC when I got back on line as it seemed to be circling the drain when I last looked in. For what it's worth I didn't get back to other groups I'd previously enjoyed either. Apathy/ennui/lassitude set in hard and my completion rate went offscale low; I still try to build a bit but my hand shakes too badly to be able to complete a project to a standard I would previously have regarded as satisfactory. I have managed a couple things with work-arounds but they've never been what I would prefer to do. So like last time I was around I won't be a proper participant but more a lurker who sometimes shouts incomprehensible gibberish from the shadows...
Cheers,
M

moramartht, I've had tremor since I was a flea, I brace my hands together so I can do detail work, and there are times I probably should have stayed away from the bench but where's the fun in that? Detail painting things I can't mask is a hateful task some days. It's not about perfection, not for me. Handling and placing small parts and holding them until glue dries enough is a trial, I use weighted clamps like Exacto made in times past when I can. I do find that modeling actually helps reduce the tremor. For many years I made my living flying, and I was the Captain whose hands were shaking until they met the yoke.
As for the forum, what makes it work is content, whatever you add is always a good thing, makes it more fun for all of us.

Tom, I'm really glad that you're here. It's been a long time since we've talked and I think the last time I do remember talking to you was over at CMS. This place has made a whale of a comeback since six months ago and I'm happy that you are now a part of it. Thank you for responding to the invitation and am looking forward to your presence here bro.
