I wasn't going to start this thread because I had put this project on the shelf a while back. I really want to make progress on it and with how supportive this community is I think if I post it, it will keep me motivated to get started again. I know this isnt a plastic model diorama, but hopefully ya'll wont mind The Type One showroom is essentially home base for Spoon Sports. They are a specialized engine tuning and aftermarket parts company for Honda. I'm a HUGE Honda fan, specially Spoon. Im also 1/64 and 1/43 scale diecast collector so I had the idea to build a replica of the garage to scale... and place the 1/64 cars I have inside the garage. Quick photos of the shop: Exterior Inside they house some of their famous race cars, and current projects and customer cars. They also have this amazing multi-floor car elevator They also have a separate engine assembly room which I do plan to also replicate. I know, ridiculous. But if I can pull it off it will be so cool Here are the cars i have for the Diorama

Not much progress has been made. My original idea was to make a very basic model from cardboard to have a refrence when building the actual dio out of styrene sheets. This was as far as I got before I started a few other projects (Saturn V) Anyone happen to live in Tokyo! LOL

Looks like it will be fun to follow your huge diorama project! You definitely can count me in too!

Appreciate that Andy! I have never built a diorama before, maybe once back in the 6th grade for school? So should be fun! Who wouldn't want to build a replica of a building they have never seen in person, in a country they have never visited haha!

That looks like a fun project! For me, a fun project would be the Radio Kaikan Building in Akihabara, of which a small-scale model exists: Either that, or the first hobby shop I remember going to in Japan: It is located in Yachiyo-Dai, Chiba, near Your Elm Department Store. I have a copy of the plans to my house, so even that would be possible. Maybe do some "additions" like a vertical silo to launch mobile suits or rockets. Make those barky dogs across the street run for cover!

This is such a fantastic idea. And what a great way to display some 1/64s Not sure why this happened, but oh well. Yea, I agree. I've been trying to find a cool way to display these besides the usual stick them in a plastic case. It will be harder to display because of the foot print but I can always put it on its own shelf in my office or something.

This will be cool to see. Don't feel bad, I've never built a diorama either.
