Underground Base Entrance/Pillbox Unit

Concurrent project, alongside my Checkpoint/Super Pillbox (see here) is this unit… the idea being, a concrete superstructure that is an entrance to an elevator that leads down into an underground base; a pillbox atop, for protection/repelling actions. I’ve toyed around with making this as a unit that can be assaulted; you will either repel the enemy, or they will breach the unit and descend into the underground base… this is when I’d pull out a board map of the base, or portion of the base, where my miniature soldiers will duke it out. Or, it could be a mystery command post, or munitions bunker, or temporary holding station for prisoners.

Inspiration comes from this unit, but mine will be much bigger, and less open atop…



I like the idea of an attached power section, that can also be scaled to gain entrance to the Pillbox on top… this makes the elevator room a separate area not open to the power station portion.



This gives the ability for tactics by the enemy force to try and knock out the elevator power.



I’d probably make the pillbox roof removable, so I can get minis in there.



I’d have separate doors to the power station portion, as well as the elevator room.



Once again, foamcore board will be the primary plan of build action here, and just run with it!
