Greetings one and all. My name is Phil and I have been making models on a serious basis for nearly 2 years now although, I have done a few kits on and off all my life. Without exception these are all armor. In my early days I used to confine myself to German AFV's from WW2, but since rekindling this hobby I now branch out and do tanks from all countries and from both WW1 and WW2. Who knows, in the future this may include more recent conflicts, but not for now. I am recently retired and live on the east coast of NSW Australia in a small coastal town called Forster. Here the weather all year is pretty much perfect. Apart from model making, I am an avid golfer and enjoy wildlife photography. I look forward to becoming involved in a few discussions and improving my abilities when it comes to armor models. I am pretty much a straight out of the box type of guy who likes to present the finished project on a small vignette/diorama type base. If my finished model looks like a King Tiger at first glance then I am not really all that interested in counting rivets or individual nuts and bolts. Thank you.
Cheers Phil

Phil good to have ya, Brotha! I've often said, this is one heck of a fun Sport, so do as you please, you're the one making it happen. The object being, have fun all along the way. As I always say, "Sniff some paint and glue them fingers together!" Ruck On, Bby! Cheers, Ski. P.S. Armor is always cool, but some day a figure might show up. No worries, we're here for that too!

A hardy welcome to MSC to you Phil. You, my friend, have made a life changing choice. Here you will find an immense wealth of talent and support that will raise your modeling experience to a whole new realm beyond imagination. Okay, that might be a little extreme but, your modeling is no doubt about to become a lot more fun. A fantastic group of folks you will find here. Enjoy!

We are glad you found your way here and I'm positive you'll be happy you did. This is a great group of active modelers who share actual tips and techniques and are always willing to share their experiences. We've got some top-quality armor modelers on the site, browse the many threads. If you are so inclined, we have a panther group build going on through the end of the year, you have plenty of time to join in. Look down under the group build section for more details.

Thankyou one and all for the warm welcome. Appreciate it and in case anyone is wondering, it was Mike (M1keh) who I chat with about model stuff on WAF, it was he who gave me the link to this forum. Thanks Mike.

Sorry Tojo72 that could well have been me. I used to post on a forum a while back but I forgot its name. I liked it at first but towards the end, comments were rare and nobody seemed interested in what you did really. So I just let it all go. Shame as there were a few good model makers there.

If that's the case, I'm supposing that happened to alot of us. I don't hold anything against other forums that I've been on at all. I had just been wanting something......more....for a while actually......until I rediscovered this place. Out of all the other forums that I've been on (and there's around 12-13 of 'em) most all of them are in jeopardy except two. The common theme among the dying forums is a "ghost town" atmosphere and an almost total absence or minimal participation from the staff. We're definitely glad that you found your way here Phil.
