Found my tube of Squadron Putty hard as a rock, after non-use for years! Can’t find my Milliput anywhere. Thinking on both, they were smelly and hard to use anyway! What do you use, and how?I was about to order some AK Interactive White Modeling Hard Putty in a 20ml tube that looked pretty good, but I thought I’d ask the folks here first

For filling gaps where I still want a visible line of an even depth, I use Apoxie Clay. Its a two-part putty a lot like Milliput. Water soluble/workable until it cures. Just like Milliput, you can sculpt and fabricate modifications on your models. Fabricated the steps on an Su-25M1 project with it, as well as the Ukrainian mods to the glareshield in the cockpit. For filling seams where I don't want a visible line, I don't use putty. For that I use Gorilla CA with the light blue cap that I buy at Walmart. No putty, sand, repeat dance with that stuff...stays where you want it to stay and doesn't crack or continue sucking paint into it.

I use primarily gel CA glue or Tamiya White & Gray putties for gap & seam work. Or sometimes I used strip or rod styrene to blend in.

I really like the one that I have been using for last 2-3 years and it doesn’t smell at all. And it is so easy to sand… It is only $12 or $13 on Amazon.

Perfect! My first tube was big then it became little dry and tough inside so my second tube is smaller so I think it will be better this time.

For accessible seams I use a cheap brush on super glue from the dollar store. It takes some practice to hit the perfect point where it has set enough to sand but isn't rock hard. I like it because it adds strength as well as fills gaps. You need to be able to get to it with a sanding stick tough. This is the stuff: This seam is actually filled with it and is perfectly smooth even though you can still see the gap through the clear cement. Like Stick I use the Tamiya putties on things like sink marks or where extra sanding could do damage.

Milliput for the larger stuff, Tamiya White for the small stuff. I might have to try this stuff. The Tamiya stuff is nice but it requires a lot of sanding and has a strong smell.
