Hi guys. I have been quiet of late doing a few things newly retired gentlemen do like playing golf and catching up on my reading. I know it's a hard life but some of us just have to grit our teeth and get on with it. I have also completed my vignette of Tamiya's early KV-1. I purchased this kit because it has been largely superseded by the newer retooled KV-1 and it was cheap. As a builder of diorama/vignette's, I am not fazed by rubber band tracks, a few nuts and bolts missing, etc, because these faults for want of a better word, are not really on display. Rather, a viewers eye is always taking in the entire scene so to speak rather than just concentrating on the actual vehicle. Anyway, that is my reasoning and I will stick to it. Overall, I am very pleased with how it all turned out. I was going to put a very light dusting of snow over the scene, but decided in the end it didn't really need it. The scene is set during the Russian advance months after Stalingrad in the area of army group south. I hope you like it. Cheers Phil

Very nice sir an excellent presentation
Gotta agree on the bandy tracks; in many cases I prefer them long's they're well molded (especially over Dragon Tragic Tracks)

Very nicely done! The old Tamiya armor kits are just diamonds in the rough. The more you put into them, the better that they will look. Not to mention, you can go to town trying new techniques, and not be out a few days pay if things don’t turn out as intended. Bravo on your classic KV!

Good LORD man!! That is indeed a lot to take in and is definitely an amazing build and diorama to boot. I do like your spin on overlooking the missing details and nuances in favor of an overall look in a diorama and you're right on with that mindset. This is really something else Phil. Beautiful work good sir!

First off all let me say. Congrats on retirement. My heart bleeds for you when you describe how tough it has been. 😂🤣. Secondly, I really don’t have any words to describe this. Superb!! I love everything about it and thank you for sharing it here for us to see.

The tones you used in this display blend nicely into a very realistic scene. I love it!
