I’ve been wanting this one for a loooooooong time, and I found it on a good sale on Amazon (which was lower that the lowest Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale I could find), so free shipping to boot! The kit I bought features the following… I was a huge fan as a kid and remained so throughout my life. As a child of the Space Age, the Space Race, and NASA in all her glory; and the resultant fervor and manic peddling of all things Space, from toys to TANG to Astronaut Food Sticks to movies and TV — I ate it all up (including those Godawful individually packaged snack sticks). As time went on, and I educated myself on space programs and cosmology, I came to appreciate the varied designs of space faring vessels, from real-life rockets to fictional craft. I think at it’s zenith of possibilities suggested by television show designers, the SA-23E Mitchell-Hyundyne Starfury was at the time in the mid-90s, voted and appraised by JPL and NASA engineers as the best designed fighter imagined, including the revolutionary cockpit seating. But before that, and as a non-rocket scientist ( ), I always considered the fleet of Eagle Transports, in all their varied forms, as the most realistic design that would *work*, not just look cool. I’m looking forward to building this kit!!! It’s on the back burner as I get more comfortable re-reentering the hobby, as I want to do the ultimate justice to her!!!

Never seen this version before. Looks great! Appeared in Season 2, when they started more operations, versus scrambling after the moon got catapulted out into space Funny, I was mulling over memories of the show and I can’t remember if they depicted the crew in the Eagles as being weightless or not, lol. I’ll have to see if they have any episodes on YouTube!!!

Probably stayed strapped down since no budget for weightlessness.

Sweet! I wonder where I can watch the series... Netflix, Prime or any video streaming? I never watched them because they were not captioned or subtitled back then but I am sure they are now.

Funnily enough, I was thinking the same thing about where to watch the show and so I looked, and it’s streaming on Prime and ROKU Channel! I haven’t watched any yet, but plan too soon. I saw Prime shows it with commercials… I didn’t find out of ROKU Channel shows commercials too, but I would imagine they do. I remember the show lost me a tad in the second season, when the character Maya was introduced… I’d never seen they concept of a shapeshifter and it threw me for a loop, but once I started making sense of it, it was all good. Even though the general concept of the show is rather far fetched and out there, at the roots of interest for me was astronauts and a moon base… adding in something as waaaaay out there, as in a shapeshifter was a bit too much to take in at first.

You can watch on some of the streaming services. Pretty sure Prime has it. Don't know if they ever captioned or subtitled it though. I watched it on some borrowed DVDs a couple of years ago and it really REALLY does not stand up to production standards even back then. Only saw a couple of episodes back when it was on since that was my military service years and TV watching was not my goals on my time off. Here is Episode 1 with CC on Youtube www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6BXaGEuqxo

Hope you feel better quickly!
What part of Indiana are you in? I drove across Indiana twice last week, on the way back home we spent the night in Evansville.

Jumping in as there are two of us in this thread now. Lol. This particular Hoosier hails from Shelbyville. I'm about 3 hours and 1 time zone away from Evansville. Driving across Indiana is how must people spend their time here, I feel. Lol

I have the old AMT Eagle Transporter in 1/92 or 1/444 partially built sitting in my stash. I have wanted to get one of the larger Space 1999 kits, this looks like a good one to build.

I live in Carmel which is just minutes north of Indianapolis. I loved the first episode already and it left me awe how much the movies are better today when we use CGI instead of actual models!

A bucket list item for me is to go to Indianapolis for the Drum Corps Internaional Championship week, most of which up to Finals is held at the Colt’s stadium. I used to want to go to GenCon, but I’m not sure it’d be worth the money as I’d likely do more walking and watching, than gaming. But regardless, one of the nice things about going to events that last a week is, sometimes bein g able to work in a dinner out with nearby friends from the forums!

YES! That would be awesome! I live only half hour north of downtown where the stadium and GenCon is. I have been to GenCon 4 or 5 times even tho I am not into gaming but vendors were awesome that I buy cool kits and lots of diorama stuff. Please do let me know so we can make it happen!

That would be incredible to finally meet you both in person It’s good to hear GenCon sells kits and dio supplies…makes sense especially on the terrain items. I buddy of mine from the area has gone and says they play out on the filed area, with stageing set up of course…said it was the most unusual, and cool venue he’s ever games!
