Great collection. I like the Indy/F1 cars, especially from the 60s era.

I like the Indy/F1 cars, especially from the 60s era. Thank you! I'm working on expanding my collection from the older cars. These 80s ones are just so easy to get my hands on.

The Tamiya RA272 and Lotus are great kits. I have a couple Ebbro kits in the stash and my understanding is one of the designers/engineers from Tamiya went over to Ebbro - the kits sure look Tamiya'ish

Mine is on here on one of my first threads. I'd love to build another. I haven't gotten one of the early Lotus cars yet. However, I did build the Ebbro Lotus 91 from 1982. It was a very Tamiya-ish kit for sure. Built up beautifully.

Great kits. Absolutely! Great work on those. I want to build the Honda again but with the very prominent fuel lines. I built it box stock last time. And the lotus is certainly on my short list. Just haven’t gotten around to picking one up.

These are nice, I really like the 1920s one.
I'm not a big fan of racing, but I do like race cars as I am fascinated with technology and race cars tend to be on the cutting edge of automotive technology.
I'm particularly fond of the cars from 60-70s era when I was a kid.
I had a blast playing Indianapolis 500 Evolution on the XBox because they include a ton of of the 1960s cars. I'm terrible at the game, but it is still fun tearing around the track and leaving bits of the car all over the track.

I had to go take a look at my sons car collection. Found these haha Thank you! And those are awesome!! Clearly we have a Marlboro Team knockoff there, along with the Mears car. I'm not sure who the black and yellow machine is supposed to be but still. Too cool. The Marlboro car appears to be missing some downforce, he's going to struggle for speed. Ha!!

Awesome builds mate, very crisp. Be interested to know your thoughts on Scott McLaughlin.... Thank you much Deano. As for Scotty Mac, I can’t say I have any problem with him. I don’t particularly have any favorite drivers anymore but he is properly quick and has adapted quite well to open wheel cars and ovals as well. And he seems to generally have a hood attitude. What are your thoughts on him, as someone who is more from his part of the world?

Great looking Indy racing cars! The only thing missing is the smell of the engine & oil... maybe I should read your posts in my garage from now on.

What a great display of modeling across the decades of Indy car racing Kyle. I can never get over the detail that goes into these builds and yours is definitely a showcase in THAT department. Well done on all of these and thank you for sharing these with us bud.

Long story short, my daughter and I road tripped interstate for an open day at the workshop for the team he was with at the team. Met him and the rest of the team - drivers, owners, pit crew, transporter driver etc etc etc. He seemed a really genuine guy, laid back and didn't take him self as seriously as some do. I think he is a real talent and genuine contender for the title. My daughter managed a pass to their garage at the Bathurst 1000 a couple of times and said he was the same away from the public eye. She actually built 1:24 scale models of their last 2 B double transporters. The drivers have signed the roof of the trailers for her.

That's exactly The sort of thing that makes me like a driver more. I agree, if he gains some consistency across the season he has the speed and talent to challenge for the title. Bathurst is wild. Mount Panorama is wild. I always look forward to seeing at least the highlights every year.

Bravo! Is there a build log for the Monroe Special online someplace? How did you find wheels for this? Edit: I read through your Scalemates build log! Still: where did you find those wheels?

I was going to link you to the build thread on scalemates but you’ve beaten me to it. I have always been very terrible at remembering build logs. This place helps me remember but I wasn’t on here yet when I built this car. Wheels are from Fernando Pinto. They are expensive. But they add soooo much to these early kits. I also used his wheels on my Novi Indy car as well. They make the model.

Thanks so much! The wheels are fantastic! It’s a small world because I know Fernando. I tried to purchase body shells from him to make slot cars and I’m afraid I may have offended him. He’s a wonderful artist as well!

He’s a wonderful artist as well! Fernando is incredibly talented. I have one of his kits and have used his wheels multiple times. Perhaps all artists are a bit touchy about their art? Communication isn’t always smooth with him either but I put it down to his English not being his main language. At any rate he is a wonderful artist as you say.
