AK Interactive April releases Well they haven't slowed down one bit. April has brought even more painting and weathering products from AK Int. I have several of the new products and will get some quick reviews up for you all. . While at the AMPS Nats show I picked up some new products from AK Int that I hadn't received yet. I hope to get to actually use the products and give a more informative review and opinion of these products. For now we'll just take a look see what we have ey.
AK 167 German Camouflage First up we have the new color mod set for German three tone camo vehicles. As with all of the CM sets from AK, these are also acrylics and the set contains six (6) bottles. You get three each of the Rotbraun and Olivgrun. Each color has Shadow, Base and Highlight colors. For the base PanzerGelb one can use the AK CM set or the users choice of paint.
AK 131 US Olive Drab The long awaited CM set for US vehicles has been released by AK. This set is the same as all the other CM sets in that you get colors ranging from Shadow to the highlights and sheen. Six(6) bottles come in this set in the typical AK eye dropper plastic bottles. These paints, as with all the AK acrylics are ready to spray. * some colors may need thinning with water, as goes for the other sets.
In all, another welcome addition to the range of AK CM sets. AK 550 Afrika Korps Colors This is the set I have been waiting for. If you are into the DAK vehicles then this set is for you. The set includes six (6) colors of paints used by the German army in North Africa, from the start in 1941 until 1943 after the defeat of the German army in Africa. Again, these are all acylics and ready use. As yet these are only sold in this set but I do hope that some colors will be made available separately for thse who prefer just the one or two colors. * some colors may need thinning with water, as goes for the other sets. I look forward to trying these colors out on a future project and will then give an opinion of the paints
AK Perfect Cleaner
Now that we have some great acrylic paints from AK, we will need a good cleaner right. Well AK has just that. I have been using this cleaner for a week or two now and can say it is just fantastic. I normally clean my brushes with tap water or a mix or water and Iso alcohol. I cleaned some brushes that I thought were clean, and wouldn't you know, there was still paint on them. This stuff really cleans fresh and older paint from brushes. I have yet to use this as a thinner but will give it a go soon just to see what happens.
Washes and Streaking enamels
AK 121 OIF and OEF wash AK 123 OIF and OEF Streaking grime
AK 300 Wash for Dark Yellow German Vehicles
The products listed above can all be obtained through the AK websites and prices will vary, as will postage costs. You can also find more products on the AK websites.

Spud the wash looks great but I didn't grab one of those, too much going on. The DAK colors look perfect but will see when I get a DAK tank painted. I bought some brushes from MIG USA at the show cause I couldn't hold out the couple months until AK release their new paint brushes. Will defo get those as well. Gonna be MANY cool things from AK in the near future......oh yeah baby, bring it on. ;D ;D

Spud, AK Spain is basically a shop that does carry the full AK line of paints and weathering products, BUT also sells kits and other AM items. They may not have all that you may need but do have quite a bit of inventory.

It does take time for the Dist and LHS to get stocked on the newesst items. I know for a fact that AK USA is nw out of some of the new items. We sold out on quite a few products last week at the show . It will be a bit until Iain gets stocked again. The DAK book was the first to sell out, followed by the acrylic cleaner.

It's a 100ml bottle Spud, same as the large spirits. They also have a sand and dirt fixer, I forgot to grab one for the review.

As of right now, the CM sets and I believe the DAK colors have been placed on hold. There is / was a problem with some of the colors , mostly the dark shadow colors, and this is being taken care of before they are shipped or sold.

there on top of it Spud. The OD set seems to be a prob right now. The DAK set has an issue with the drying time of some of the colors. This was experienced by Mig himself while doing a demo at the AMPS Nats. This gives you time to save money to buy more stuff ey Spud ...(LOL)
