Young Miniatures - Polish Winged Hussar 17th Centry
Scale : 1/10 Resin Bust.
Item number : YH 1831
Price : NA
Thanks to Dave of Last Cav for sending this great item for review.
What do you get when you buy this item, well the best packaged figure I have ever seen for starters. The box is black and very sturdy with a plastic sleeve. When opening the box you find packaging black foam, like the type used for doing the sponge technique ( hint hint), And in between are the resin parts to the figure.
Box end and side:
From a visual inspection of the cream colored resin parts, the details look absolutely fantastic and will stand out even more when painted.
The one thing that does not come with the bust is a pedestal or base to mount the figure. This is then up to the modeler to come up with his own type of mount to display the bust. Also not included in this review sample are instructions. Not a problem really since it's pretty straight forward as to were the parts go.
Here is what is in the box. All in very crisply cast resin parts. Smaller separate parts come in a small zip lock baggie.
My favorite part is the torso. The figure has a Lepard skin wrap across the back and tied at the chest. The head and paw of this cat is simply amazing.
This is a winged warrior so you have to have wings right!! Well you get that in the box as well. There are 8 gates with 5 feathers on each to be divided between the two ? shaped 'wings' that the feathers have to be glued into the mounting holes.
There is very minimal flash to clean from the feathers and they look easy to glue on, but care should be taken when it comes to the painting.
The box art is very well done and can be used as a painting reference. This is a very very made product and worth the money paid for a 1/10 bust of this quality.
Note:
This bust will be either sent to an MSC member for build review, or most likely given as a prize at the MoM end of year contest. We have three busts to give away from different manufacturers.
