Most of us are familiar with the company Live Resin but probably have not had an opportunity to purchase their superior products. I recently bought several sets from Sprue Brothers.
In this post, I'm highlighting set LRE35076 which is a MK. 19-3 40mm Grenade Machine Gun represented on a MK. 93 mount with Gunner Shield Kit. The package is labeled as 'MK19-3 40mm Grenade Machine Gun on MK93 Machine Gun Mount with Bearing Sleeve pedestal and classic GPK armour shield (with/without shield) scope mounting bracket (optional)'. The GPK is a turret system that includes the Gunner Shield Kit. What is represented in this set is just the shield assembly when by itself is referred as 'Gunner Shield Kit' or GSK.
Here are a couple of images of the real thing.

Here is what you get in the box:
.....instructions:
.....27 resin parts:
For assembly of this set I used an Xacto knife with a new no.11 blade, a CMK razor saw, a set of sprue cutters and CA glue.
Step 1- You assemble the bearing sleeve pedestal and the support arm for the gunner shield.
Step 2- You install the gunner shield
Step 3- You assemble the MK. 19-3 40mm Grenade Machine Gun. The receiver is molded as one piece. You must glue on 2/3 of the 'butterfly' grips, both (left/right) charging handles and Night Sight mount. I left the night sight mount off since I will use this in a future HMMWV project without a night sight.
Step 4- Has you attaching a triangular mounting plate on the weapon receiver just forward of the butterfly grips.
Step 5 & 6- You install the mount on the weapon.
Step 7- In step 7 you assemble the ammo can holder and install the ammo can on the mount.
Step 8 & 9- Selection/Installation of the ammo belt.
Step 10 & 11- Installation of a mounting plate for alternate sighting systems. I am not using the part in these steps.
Step 12- Installation of the MK.19-3 onto the bearing pedestal/gunner shield and installation of the traversing and elevation mechanism.
Here are pictures of the complete weapon system.
Final thoughts- Part removal was very easy. There were no sink marks or air bubbles of any type. There was a little bit of flash encountered but it was easily removed with the Xacto knife. There were not any significant issues encountered during the assembly although Step 12 was a bit tricky. I would not recommend these sets for the beginning model builder.
The 'Live Resin' process is truly a game changer in resin production and standards. As you can see by the photos, the parts retain the quality of CAD images shown elsewhere.
