if your into 109's you gotta get one!! This kit is better than their F2 (if that's possible). The box is very nice it comes in, and believe me it's stuffed full of parts. There's everything to make a "jabo" and it even comes with two different props and spinners. Plus two sets of engine cowls. Has some of the finest panel lines I've ever seen on any kit.
The engine and interior are a kit to themselves. Decales were OK, but mine are very slightly out of register (you have to look at them real hard to see it). 99% wouldn't notice it. My only serious grumble is that the instructions are written in Russian (I guess), but still pretty easy to follow (except the different props and cowls). This kit is now the standard for 109's in any scale, and the F2 will drop to number two. Told my dealer I was gonna have to have two more for starters (Vector has a G conversion)
If that kit had Tamiya written on the box it would cost over $80!! gary

Interesting news, sturmbird. What scale is it? 1/48th. Looking the kit and the layout over yesterday afternoon, I kinda of got the thought that it reminded me of the Tamiya 1/32 zeros they do. And believe me I love their Zeros! gary

PLEASE!!!!! let them start doing allied stuff!!!! ;D well they are supposed to be doing a really nice Mig 3 to compliment their La series. I want a couple of these kits as well, but have yet to ever see one in the flesh. I'd just love to see them give us a P39 of that same quality or even better yet a P63 with Russian markings! gary

Sorry, maybe I should have made my statement more specific....US/British,as opposed to Allied.... Maybe something like a 1/48th Fairey Battle? I know already that I'm going to be quartered and hauled out of town on a split rail only to be tar and feathered at the end of the day over this. But here goes!! We as the modeling society have literally picked apart every Spitfire and 109 to death on this planet!! I'm as guilty as anybody thanks to some excellent Britsh books. I kinda suspect that some of the smaller companys like Zvezda are almost afraid to try one! Yet we all know they used a bunch of MK. V Spits in Russia. Perhaps a new 1/48th A20 would be better for them to undertake; I don't know. Now I love the British modlers to death for the ideas of perfection, and just plain doing it right. (I seriously respect this in them). I'm from the USA, and I see a lot of us being kinda lazy (me too). If it dosn't simply fall together it's junk. And after two weeks of steadilly whining and crying about the crow bar in the car door or the inside of something not being exactly perfect, I think maybe we sorta scare them off from the subject. My main complaint is what you get for the dollar or pounds sterling you dropped on the dealers counter top. For what I've gotten lately out of Revell and Zvezda and Airfix I'm happier than a kid in the candy shop. So if I were Zvezda and wanted to do an Allied subject, I think an A20 or an A26 in 1/48th would be the place to start. Plus I know they have several examples to measure off inside Russia. Lets hear your thoughts on the subject matter gary

I think they should stick to single engined planes, for a start. There are lots of single engine planes from the allied side that have been neglected. Fairey Battle is one, but there are some others too.
It may be too risky to start from twin engined planes like A20 or A26, IMHO.

Now I'd be game for that one! Or how about a new (and good) Lysander? ? in 1/48th scale of course. That little plane is so goofy looking that you just gotta love it to death! (one of my favorite planes over in dayton) I seriously think that Zvezda needs to seriously look at Yak's and a new top dog BF109G14AS or a K4. I'd line up for a half dozen of them is they were the same quality af their "F" series. An ME210 would be nice in 1/48th as well gary
