CHEETAH is a Sherman tank, as part of a memorial display along with a WWII naval deck gun and a Sabre jet in a parking lot. The ANAVETS Association of Sidney, British Columbia owns these and other artifacts in their museum. I was given a finished 1/35 model of a Sherman and started to re-build it to resemble CHEETAH. After creating a replica of CHEETAH I wanted to display it as it is seen in the parking lot, therefore needing a car, which also gives a sense of scale. Hmmmmmm, not much out there, but I found a 1/35 Kubelwagen and changed it from WWII to the civilian "Thing" a Volkswagen vehicular venture a few years ago. One detail I enjoyed adding was a veteran license plate. This "CHEETAH" diorama is in good company with many other dioramas in the museum. I am not an "armor" modeller but enjoyed the challenge of creating a replica of a WWII tank that lives 15 miles from my home, cheers.

I think this came out great. Always nice to see models of museum or display pieces.

That is superb work and really looks the part! I am impressed with how you were able to replicate all the rust spots and grime of the real deal so well on your model. If the real one is out in the weather, does that mean you have to "update" your completed model every year or so to reflect the current state of decay? ;D Cheers, Sam
