Hey guys,
I have the privilege of reviewing the Live Resin Mk47 Grenade Launcher. The Live Resin kit number is LRE35070 – complete basic set. I won’t spoil the following review, but what I will say is that the kit is extremely detailed.
When I received the box I was quick to notice how crisp the rendering is on the box itself.
Front of the box:
Back of the box:
After inspecting the box I decided to take a look at the kit instructions. This is where one drawback of the kit presents itself. There is no diagram showing the pieces contained within the kit, and the instructions are pretty fuzzy.
The contents of the kit:
Construction of the piece itself went very quickly, about an hour or so.
First step, attaching the barrel to the receiver:
Next step was where I goofed up. In removing this piece from the block I snapped off part of the kit piece. In the picture you will see I added a piece of styrene rod as a replacement.
Next up was the sighting system, the details on this thing really pop!
This is where I noticed another small hiccup in the kit. You’ll see here that they instructions as you to add something but it is unclear what that is.
It’s a good thing the rendering on the box is so great!
So, here’s where I ended up.
Next up were a few handles. Just look at the crisp detail on the resin!
Next up were the optics:
Now, either the detail didn’t make the mold, or and much more likely, I sanded off the detail that you’ll see in this picture:
So what did I do? I took a little piece of resin that came off the block and carefully glued it to the end of the optics.
Detail added. Looks good to me!
Next up was the ammo can. The instructions again left me guessing and referring back to the box for clarification:
Final product:
Construction of the gun went fairly fast, just about an hour. Here are a few pictures of the Mk47 all finished up.
This little guy really is a breeze to construct and packs a ton of detail. Photos of the painting and weathering process will follow in the coming weeks!
Thank you to Yaroslav from Live Resin for this review sample
Please stay tuned as Adam continues the review/build by painting this little gem in the coming weeks!!
