Hope this hasn't been done already.

For me... well hell... it might be easy to list what I don't drink


There is beer of course. One of my faves is Bass Ale and that is more or less my starting point. Don't like 'em too hoppy. I make my own beer as well. Irish reds, ales, lagers. Just now I am finishing off a batch of chocolate stout. Darker than I usually like but a black and tan with that and some Bass... mom tic as i take a sip of exactly that... yeah baby mmmmmmm. Awesome.

Wines I am in my Argentine Mendoza Malbec stage. Even found one is a screw top bottle that is pretty damn good.

Cocktails I am all other the map. My standards are a Gin and tonic or a bourbon and coke. (If I used to order Bombay and tonic... do I have to order Mombai and tonic now?) Summer time I will put away numerous Mojitos and Margaritas. Last time I was in NYC I picked up on a new one. A Bourbon Beehive.

Before you star in on the "less than manly" crapola, it is more pr less a bourbon sour... with a twist. And its serves in a mans glass... short, wide and no stem. Lemon juice and a shot of pomegranate juice for the sour, honey syrup for the sweet bit and a good measure of bourbon to balance all that stuff out.
If you want to try it I'll be happy to post the recipe.

Yo John, thanks for reminding me. I did not put Maker's Mark on my list. I was a Woodford Reserve man until I tried Maker's. Front porch+ Marker's + a good cigar= ... well... it's indescribable.

Well......I was weaned on Singapores famous Tiger beer,so my main tipple of choice is Lager,although there are a few exceptions(Fosters,Stella....)I love the German biers/Pilseners,from my time in BAOR.
Dry white wines,especially some of the South African vineyards,Paarl Heights,being a special favourite,when I can afford it!!!!
Never touch the spirits,now....although I used to like Apfelkorn,and Schnapps.....again from my BAOR days.....
I try not to drink so much now,.....HONEST!!!! ;D

well, in my 'going out' I used to drink lots of Amaretto, combined with all sorts of stuff, like Baileys (mmmm, Amaretto-Baileys!!!!)

now I drink some red Porto from time to time, I can enjoy red wine as well

And since I'm living in the country with the most beers per citizen I like to try out some of the great Belgian beers (hey, in general Belgians ain't much chauvinistic, but I am!)...my favourite would be Duvel...ideal when sitting in the sun and relaxing with some snacks...yummie

Hi folks,

I'm yet to post in 'the pub' - before today!

Definately Guiness - preferably Guiness poured in an Irish pub, in Southern Ireland - with a Shamrock expertly drawn into the froth!

After a pint or three of the black stuff perhaps a Vodka chaser or a bottle of the finest of English Ales - 'Old Peculiar'! mmmm

It's just a shame I can't drink at-all at the minute due to an iffy Hiatus Hernia which has the potential to reduce me to tears with heartburn pain if I drink on the wrong day and it triggers acid reflux.

I risked two halfs of Guiness on Christmas day and they were perfection - that was the only time I drank in 2012 and thank God no bloody Heartburn!

I hope the Doctors can sort it if it gets too bad

If I'm 'on one' it's gin and tonic, at home it's red wine, mainly Rioja. Social drinking with buddies, lager, something like Miller.

On hols, assuming its all inclusive, the daftest cocktail available!

Mine will always be Bacardi and coke. Normally by the 1/2 pint. Port of any description, Beers, lagers, stouts, wines of any colour, various shorts, even the stuff made from spuds.

My new whiskey stones arrived today and just had to give a test drive. Put then in the freezer and it cools your booze... Makers Mark in his case... without diluting.

Oh, boy, something I'm good at!
Below 10% abv (alcohol by volume; I'm in da bidness): Kilkenny cream ale, which I can only get in Austin or Kansas City right now, so I'm stuck with Guiness or any number of local stouts.
Above 10% but below 40% abv: Good Cali cabs, Aussie GSMs, or even a fair-to-middlin' chablis.
Over 40%abv: Balcones True Blue Texas whiskey, Garrison Bros. (same), Casa Dragones tequila (prohibitively expensive).
Misc: Rye whiskey and Dolin sweet vermouth, no bitters or ice or anything else to muddle it up; Dolin blanc on the rocks poolside (not really into that right now, there was a touch of snow on the ground this morning), and when appropriate, a Bloody Mary with enough horseradish to make me tear up and cough.


And most anything else that sounds interesting.

It's too cold to be Texas in January, that's pretty much a sure thing. Today's a bit warmer, and Saturday should be fine.
Re: the bloody mary, I use a commercial mix, usually Mateo's medium, and add worcestershire and fresh horseradish to taste. Add celery, olives and sometimes one large shrimp. Most any vodka will do, but I usually have Tito's around the house.
It's a complete meal.

I like English "bitters", but have not picked up on a favorite yet. Been drinking Belles double creame stout lately, and really do like this brew.

But, for the others I like a good Irish Whiskey. Maybe Bushmilles Black is my favorite, but also like Tulamere Dew. Locally it's probably Woodford Reserve or Blanton's, but also have a dear love for 100 proof Grandad!!

When it's warm outside (close to zero right now), I like to smoke a good cigar while hitting a snifter of B&B or Grand Mariner with the sliding doors open so I can listen to some serious tunes thry the stereo (acoustic jazz mostly)

I like bloody marys that are very spicey! Awhile back we had them made with the usual stuff and a little bit of mango habanero sauce mixed in it. May have been the best bloody marys I've ever had anywhere except the for Playboy Club in St. Louis, and these were just as good.
