Hi guys,
I haven't done a gallery before - this is my 5th year as a modeller now and when people ask to see my work (when we aren't at my house) I have to hop around forums looking up old completed blogs. It will be great to be able to click on here and show all my work from 2014 thus far.
Definately my best years modelling. I've built more so far this year than I did in the whole of 2013 purely because I've been signed off work since Christmas - when I was at work I could only build at weekends and that was assuming nothing was planned for the weekend and I wasn't working overtime!
This year has seen me build THREE Sherman variants which is unheard of seeing as I'm a massive fan of German Armour - I loved building those Shermies and have 3 more in the stash! I also did a D-Day Commemorative build of a Tamiya Cromwell.
Just before we moved back over here from the MHI Forum following an 'upheaval' I took part in a Micro Management GB' and built a 1/72 Dragon Henshel Jagdtiger on a small base which was most enjoyable AND my first ever wingy - Tamiya's 1/72 Mosquito - again, great fun!
Everything is listed below in date of order completed - all 1/35 unless otherwise stated:[/b]
4th Jan 2014 - Dragon Pz.III Ausf.H:
9th Feb 2014 - Trumpeter's brilliant little 38(t):
5th March 2014 - Academy's recently released early(?) Hetzer (quickie build):
1st April Tamiya M4 Sherman (105mm) - My first EVER Sherman:
21st April Dragon's M4 DV Sherman:
30th May D-Day build - Tamiya's Cromwell:
21st June Dragon's M4A3 (76)w Sherman:
July 4th Dragon's 1/72 Jagdtiger:
July 15th Tamiya's 1/72 Mosquito (FB Mk.VI):
I'm really pleased with the quality of my work this year - REALLY PLEASED!
I've had loads of help and support from my very good pals Andy (Deafpanzer) Leffler and Gary (bbd648) Boggs. Not forgetting Mr knowledge Bill (wbill) Plunk from whom I've learnt a HELLUVA LOT and my newer buddies Tojo, TRM, Richard Pearce and Deano. Then of course there's my club pal big Alan and .....................you get the picture!
The reason I've done this now is because I'm not going to be here for the 12 weeks starting Tuesday 29th July. I can't go into massive amount of detail other than to say I'm NOT going to prison and it's something I need to do and will be a much better person for it
I started a StuG build a while back before the Sherman bug bit me but seeing as I'm now gasping for a good old back-to-basics StuG III build I've dug out my Shelf Queen Dragon StuG III Ausf. F8 to crack on with this weekend and complete when I'm back so-
My current WIP - Dragon's StuG III Ausf. F8 c/w Winterketten:
I've got some great kits in the stash and one kit inparticular (Trumpeter's Soviet S-51) will be this years BIG BUILD which will take me up to Christmas!
I'm definately going to miss my models and I'll miss you guys even more but 12 weeks is nothing in the whole grand scheme of things and I'll be back just in time for my Birthday and hopefully that new Meng FT-17 WWI French Tank with Resin base as my pressie!
Thanks again guys,
Ben
