Hello everyone. Interesting topic, love to see the interiors of workshops. Photo last summer. (Not much has changed))) My corner opposite the window. Total 1 desk. It has 3 drawers "document" in them a little paint, tools and everything that somehow is suitable for modeling. Typically, the disorder in this table resembles the effects of the hurricane. But it is a normal working environment. I do not interfere. Forced to remove excess debris or tool only when something lost in the wilds of these))) Only natural light, do not like to work at night and artificial light. And about 20 boxes of incomplete models, unused items and additions to the "dark wardrobe"

Finally after months of finishing my old farm cottage here in Belgium, buying a new house with much more room and the nightmare of shifting houses i finally have my own spot in the house to model!! My hobby at the old house consisted of working at the living room table and working out of 4 or 5 small suitcases which continually had to be packed away at the end of each sitting. Now I know that the following picture doesn't seem like much compared to the other caves I have seen on this thread but I'm so happy about having a dedicated working space. I hope to be back at the bench shortly, still some fine tuning to do and adding another set of cupboards to store my kits and figures but at least I'm almost there!! Shay

Freaking awesome!!!! Glad you got it completed just in time for my visit next summer to inspect your man cave and do a full inventory on your stash.
That window will be very helpful during painting jobs!

Dig what you have done to your wall!!! You can always invade the space in the bathroom to make more room!

Dig what you have done to your wall!!! You can always invade the space in the bathroom to make more room! The walls - I started in this hobby in late 2009 after accidently stumbling on some pictures of some garage workshop dioramas built by Wilco Machiels of Holland and also Dirk Patschkowski from Poland ?. I had never seen anything like it. Those images inspired me to have a try. I printed quite a few out and put them up on the walls to remind me of what was possible. These days I mostly drool over the work being done by some of the Japanese model builders.

I hear you there John! I always have a 'clean-up' ritual when one build project finishes and the next begins. It creates a very narrow window of time when I can actually see most of my workbench area!

And an Air Conditioner! Does it help your paints dry, or does the colder air slow down the dry times? ??

With the basement cleaned I got to work on a "scratchbuilt" project I've been meaning to do for a while, an airbrush table. It's very tall by design. It comes up to my chest. It's not meant for building so I need the models up close to my eyes and not down low where you have to bend over to see where the tiny layers of paint are landing. 2" foam makes an inexpensive shelf if you're storing light weight items.
It didn't burst into flame and it didn't blow the breaker, so that means it up to code, right? There's no easy outlet at the window, so I wired together a junction box to work with an extension cord. (Compressor was purchased when living overseas and runs on 240 volts)
The gizmo and thingy section. I've found that a simple section of pipe mounted at an angle works well as a universal airbrush caddy. (White thing is a 2 x 4 with holes cut using a Forestner bit.) Craft places sell poster board pre-cut in a 12 x 14 inch size. It's cheap and I've been using it for years as an painting surface. The cleats hold each section in place and allow for quick changes once the poster boards get too filthy.
The light down the window well is still better than the darkish area I had been painting.

John, do you have any trouble with the compressor being "slow?" I seem to remember when I tried to use something bought overseas back here in US with a transformer, that it was less than normal performance.
