Good Day Folks! Here we have another project I am working on, it's my first attempt at building in the Armor Genre. I am looking forward to this experience, as I have an idea for a M*A*S*H diorama in the future. I am going to give it my best attempt, to only work on this until it's finished. -Steven

Good Day Folks! It was said that, these old Tamiya kits, fall together like Lego's. They weren't kidding, I am having a blast with this build. I just finished the axles and wheel assembly.

Thanks all for the comments, and encouragement. Made a little more progress last night. I do have to admit something though, has nice as this kit is falling together, I am really worried about the painting and weathering. I have never painted or weathered any armor models, I have weathered a few locomotives, but the base color was already on there.

Dicky's right...only way to do it is to dive right in! Weathering armor is very similar to weathering locomotives...concepts are the same, just a different subject.

Yeap, I agree, jump right in, don't worry about trying to make it perfect. Just have fun doing it. The only way to get comfortable is practice, practice, and more practice. So just keep building, painting, and weathering. The concepts are the same as model railroad weathering. Plus there are lots of good threads here that should give ya a lot of good tips and tricks

Not sure how I missed out on this one Steven...sorry bud! Count me in! Looks like your making some headway. Agreeing with the others here...no worries on the painting end....everyone will help out along the way. In you down time just "think". Think about the paint job, what you want to have her look like. Picture what you will do......in layers. Prime, base, base paint and so on into the weathering stages. It helps sometimes. Now, get thing together and then you can have your way with it!!!

Good Day Folks!
I am looking for some techniques for finishing, and/or pictures of a finished instrument panel on this half-track or similar vehicle? Would I just apply a dry brush highlight?
Thanks in advance for your replies,
-Steven

i would paint the dials first then go around them with the body color and the a dry brush to pick out the edge of the dials.
others will have prob a better way of doing it

Good Day Folks! Just another quick update, ran into a few snags, however I actually enjoy the challenge. I need to pickup some primer, which is the next major step. I still need to do some filler work on the body. -Steven

Good Day Folks!
Was not sure to ask here, or start a thread in the figures category. What color would I use to paint the skin tones of the figures? Sorry for such a basic question, and thanks in advance for any information. Updates coming soon.

figure painting aint easy but if you are looking for a basic tone then i use brown sand from Vallejo 70876 it will give you a tanned kind of look,
If you are looking for more advanced ways of face painting have a look in the how-to section there is a face painting sbs by Chris s in there, its done with oils.
hope this helps
