Hey Steven, most paint manufacturers make a handful of varied shades of flesh tones. I have a couple of testors (acrylics) and some others. Get one or two you think are close by eye and play around with them. In 1/35 you can do a lot by simply taking one or two colors that you like and mixing a lil black/brown for a shaded tone, and a lil white/sand for a highlight tone. Then use the base color overall, the darker tone on low points( under chin/neck, eye sockets, shadow of the nose, etc) and the lighter tone on the high points of the face (nose, ears, cheekbones, chin). You definitely should read ChrisS 's sbs that Spud mentioned above as well. Even if you never work with oils, the principles are sound and you will learn a ton:). Hope this helps mate.

Good Day Folks! I finally applied the primer today (pics coming soon) - I also uploaded a video to my YouTube channel, youtu.be/5fCEblnj_X8?hd=1 of my progress. My LHS, only had OD-2 in the spray can, how much different is that color, vs the regular OD? Could I get away with using a brush for the top cop of OD? Can't wait until I have enough money to place an order for some AK or K4 streak, grime and washes set. -Steven

Nice one Steven, Not sure on the OD2 but the AK stuff will be easier to get than the K4 but im sure TRM will set you on the right path about it.

Good Day Folks, The Half-Track is coming along, however I have a question. How do I finish (paint) the artillery in the back, also what to do with the shells, shell case, cannon balls, and other stuff like the 4 shovels? Thanks in Advance, -Steven

Steven, I'm not an expert on US artillery so can't answer your questions but can point you to an excellent site that should help you with the answers you need. www.mortarsinminiature.com/

Awesome, thanks for the link wbill! I found this on the site, www.mortarsinminiature.com/USM21.htm - it has everything I need to know! I have it bookmarked for future builds. I also enjoy learning about the kit I am building. Thanks "Boss" for the kind comments - I have a lot of little details, like the straps to paint, but this has been a joy to build, I have been learning a lot. -Steven

If remember correctly the ammo tubes are made from a black platic material. If Ken can stick his head in here he'll know, maybe someone (Rob) could direct him here or bring it to his attention

Why worry, each of us is wearing an unlicensed nuclear accelerator on his back.

I think Ian is onto something there. Any of the shell casings I've painted where either black or olive drab, depended on kit maker. As for the mortar it would be painted the olive drab.

Good day Folks!
Well, all the sprus have been cleared! Now for the next chapter into uncharted territory, the finishing touches. This part has me scared LOL, and I still need to put in my order with AK interactive. I am also planning out the diorama part, I have a few idea's from looking at pictures. Will post some pictures soon, she isn't pretty at the moment, and there are a few flaws, but all in all, I think I did good for my first attempt at armor.
