Okay Guys, Here is an another old kit being built up as an Air Force vehicle. The kit in question is the Heller CCKW-353 "Pompier" version which is moulded in a horrific red plastic!! This kit takes quite a lot of clean up but is actually not that bad! Just rather fiddly unlike the more modern Tamiya shake and bake. The plan is to do a Hellenic Air Force vehicle from the 1950s, using decals from a Greek manufactuer called LM Decals. The decals are of good quality and you download the excellent instructions from their website. www.lmdecals.gr/en/135/7-lm-35005The box art Rear bogie and differentials Body. Body. The bench seats are folded up to allow room for a good load of gear! I thought it would different to do a Jimmy in a colour different from the regular OD!

I've never quite understood why some manufacturers think they are 'helping' when they mold the kits in plastic that's supposed to match the actual color of the painted/finished building...although I admit when I was a kid it did make it so that I had the option of not painting at all...maybe a relic of the toy-industry approach?
Regardless this sounds like a fun project, looking forward to it!

Interesting build there. I'm getting attracted by trucks'n'tractors lately, and this build is interesting Is it a reboxing of an old kit or is it a new issue?

Very interesting kit. Nice start so far. Man that bright color would turn me off the build.

I like the diversity on this forum. Case in point right here. Cool beans.

I believe Heller's CCKW was released in the late 70's. it is similar in build to Italeri kits of the same era. This kit will have blue bodywork and black chassis. Will make a change from OD although I've got plans for a US Army truck as well. Thanks for the words of support. Incidentally has anyone got any fuel company decals suitable for 1/35 oil drums? No building this week as am away for a few days!
