Hey guys, this is another one I've been working on over at SMA. Hope you guys enjoy. i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa462/adampolo13/IMG_0097.jpgBeginning of the platform. The kit gives you the option to display this in transport or combat mode. This is a pic of how the stakes are stored when transporting. Great detail included in this kit. Here are the hooks used to attach the gun to the trailer. Another detail shot. Here is the base. Yup, that is 19 little pieces of P.E. glued on there. On to the next sub assembly. Next it is on to the cannon itself. The kit came with a single, that is right, a single barrel. Meaning I did not have to glue two pieces of plastic together. I did do a little light seam sanding though. Def not bad at all! Continued work on the gun itself. Check out the details! And that leaves me in the middle of page eight! Only 22.5 more pages to go. Thanks for checking this out.

I did a quick dry fit and found that these pin marks kept the shield from sitting flush: Used my Squadron scrapper to get ride of them: All Fitted in place (temporarily): Then I moved on to the right side. This, what I think is a range finder, took for freaking ever. It has 12+ pieces in it: One last shot: Thanks for following along!

So I set out this morning to get the squiggly green line camo scheme painted on the blast shields and gun. Well the modeling God's had a very different plan. They decided I would struggle all day!!!! Ever have one of those days? I tried so hard to get the paint thinned right, the p.s.i. right, I even tried both airbrushes. I either got the paint so thin that it didn't "stick" or the paint too think that I couldn't get the lines thin enough. That and I had a hard time with the scale aspect of the lines... So, I had to repaint the blast shields and try something else. The pattern that I decided to go with came from the instructions. I hope that they are accurate because I'm not painting them again! After the blast shields were dry enough I started masking out the scheme below and then set out to painting. Well, I started taking up the masking tape and all was looking good. That is until I realized that when I pulled up the masking tape on the right side blast shield I took up two pieces of P.E. and I only found one... So, from there I had to scratch build the missing P.E., re-glue it, mask it off and then repaint it. And then I noticed that in handling the shield I managed to chip it. Well, I tried to brush paint it which didn't work cause the dark yellow didn't match what had gone through the A.B. So I had to try and make it off and paint it all over again. Ugggh. So, after many hours of fighting with the blast shields, here is the result: I feel like I just went 10 rounds with a heavy weight, and am waiting for the judges decision.

I decided to take a shot at the wheels. I tried Ken Abrams method of painting and holy smokes it worked! I didn't screw it up once! haha. I did four outside wheels. They all came out like these. Front: Back: Also, I took Scratchmod's advice from Sunday and didn't paint the tires strait flat black. It's is lighted up with flat white. It looks shiny in the pic because its still wet.

Hey guys, The weathering on this is taking me forever. It's only because I am playing around a lot with the AK stuff. Different washes, pigments, effects etc. I'm just having a lot of fun with the whole thing. I have a feeling its going to be a dirty mess when I'm done but that's what I'm kinda going for. ;D Here's where I was at the beginning of the night. (I did a lot more to it after these pictures but everything was still kinda wet so I'll wait til tomorrow to take more pictures.) Hope you guys enjoy!
