Spud the wheels were cut down back when I built the model. It's so the JT will sit into the ground work. it's for visual weight effect and much easier this way than to try and bury the wheels and tracks. I will only be using some of the tracks since the bottom runs will be in the ground. Make sense now. If you do have anymore questions, please ask and I'll try to explain my madness

Thanks G and 67. Yeah those bright orange rust colors are a bit loud....but that is how they looked once the oxidation started. A few days of rain and they toned down to reddish brown. The black soot would also start streaking....more colors

LOL, yeah Richard, lots of progress in the past week. But things have slowed this week. I will only work on it when I know I have the time. The base will have to wait until I can order some items from Armor Farm
In the meantime I will try to get the KVI ready for paint and knock out a couple f other started kits.

Hey fellas, sorry for not replying or being around much the past few days, been real hectic round here.
BJ, thanks for the offer bro. I have the F for this one and had started them a while back, just need to finish the rest of one run and the other side. I won't be using all of the links since this will sunken into the groundwork.
Hoping to get the sprockets painted tonight and maybe start on those tracks.

Thanks John. I haven't done anything to them yet. This is the result from the Uschi track burnishing fluid. The longer run was done after the shorter ones. It's not as rusty which is ok since it will be on the side that didn't get burned. I do suggest that when using any burnishing fluid that they both be emersed in the fluid at the same time for a uniform finish. The long run will get most of the weathering so it's not a big deal here.

Looks great! I love how the burned areas transition into the dried, caked on mud. Looks perfect. Question......have you ever used blacken•it to do your tracks? If so, how would you compare the new AK stuff to that method? OK, that's two questions....sorry.

Hey bro, thanks and no I haven't used the blacken it yet. I really like the Uschi stuff because there are no fumes or dangers as with harsher mixes like bleach and viniger. I will be ordering more of this stuff for sure.

Spud the stuff works quick. You'll see it darken within a minute. Very important is to have a toothbrush or similar handy. You'll need this to get the airbubbles out of the nooks. I highly recommend a good washing with water and viniger first, as stated in the Uschi video. This will remove any residue from the casting process.
I did a video of this but my pc won't play the damn thing. I'll get it up soon I hope.
