my scrap build project is coming along i am well into the body and am manucturering many details making this as accurate as possible and want to age it appropriatly when time comes . im thinking of red oxide primer then with dark panser grey down completee and then work from there in aging process ? all tips and ideas will be appreciated in taking this to a on to one scale . like salting i want to do but salt wont be large enough so im thinking dry ice chunks or vermiculite chunks??

Glad to see you start it's own thread here Kymm!! I was thinking...Rock Salt!! The chunks and nuggets are much larger and think the scale is much more representative.

that one is out of print. F.A.Q.2 is more or less the same i beleve with added goodies. but for weathering on a 1-1 scale you cant beat mother nature unless of coulse this will not be a movable one then it will be a chalange

it will be a all wheel drive fully functional model .but i have seen other reproductions with crisp clean camo jobs and thats not what i think they looked like for very long being driven constantly day after day for sometimes years ( as depicted by you guys in these great pictures . i dont have time to drive for a year and change camos back and fourth from winter to summer . so i will weather it to simulate this

i was ver yintersted in doing a 223 and collceted alot pics and info on it but at the eleventh hour went with 222 . i too wont go crazy (party do to shear scale) but what i want is a car that went through first year in russia in basic grey , then tan camo applied following with trace of winter cano. all this with nice edge wear and salt chipping...... what you guys think ? and any ideas ... your input would be greatly apppreciated and respected thanks Kymm

Chris thanks and the compliment goes back to all of you , i chose this site after looking into very many . and reading the posts i could see your a good group of guys wanting to share . i found another where the guy has my deepest respect as a scratch model builder and his world war one tank is more real looking than real ones but he doesnt want to share details of how he does it and thats ok they are his persdonal techniques and i appreciate the glimpses of his work .

This is most impressive and i love the look of this...........definately something ya don`t see very often..........if at all!!!!.......great stuff Kymm..... Although iv`e strayed from the armour scene lately i find the one mentioned above by Chris most appealing........ ;D, as for the weathering...............the likes of Rob, `T`and many, many more superb weathers (just about 99% of the site........i`m in the 1% ) will help out with those kind of things

Now that's what I call an ambitious project! I bet you won't have any problems with the neighbors after you're done! [ ] Very cool getting to see a 1:1 replica come to life.
