Im very excited that your givin the Tamiya a try. You get used to it bro and it opens alot a doors in the acrilyc world!!! Gary

Thanks Gary and Andy!!
Gary, I love the way the tamiyas spray with the Mr color thinner. Makes it behave like an enamel, which is what i'm used to! I'm sold on it!!

Looking sweet BJ! Thin coats built up for sure but most is hidden, especially if you are weathering. A wash to the oxide-ish side might release some for you, then clean back the big flat areas with thinner? Keep at it, you are building some armor mojo for me now!!!

I swore I smelt fume yesterday and I knew right away it was one of Mr Surfacer primers... they have its unique smell that it would flood the whole basement despite the fact fan was running at high speed. Tracks look good! Are they glued in one piece already? Or in halves at this moment? That's something I need to try next time I do Magic Tracks...

Andy,
The tracks are glued up as one unit with a split at the rear idlers wheels to give them room to flex open. I almost screwed the pooch. I glued the idlers in place due to loose fit. After the glue set on the tracks, I almost never got the curved part around the idler to slide out from under the hull. I had to force it, will have to force it back in once its time to put it back together.

Thanks for the tip and warning! I have to learn how to master those MagicTracks. Last time it nearly gave me a heart attack... that's why I am hooked to Friuls but with current price of $40-$50 I am not too sure if I can keep buying more... Can't believe you can not join us next week. Is there a way you make a dummy doll of yourself and have it sit at the banquet the whole time... maybe nobody will notice? Kidding, your family comes FIRST! Same motto here in my house...

Most often I do upper and lower run halves and install them only after paint is done (except the dust/dirt phase). I am not above cutting off guide teeth at the idler end if needed also. I developed this way of doing things after making a complete hash of my first attempt at indy links which resulted in a ruined beyond salvage kit, an incident which annoyed me to no end. Don't know if this helps.
It's lookin purty big guy
Regards, Mark

Yeah T, that AK set is sweet. Need to get more!
Gary, I'll try and grab a pic of the cammo pattern. Its one of the tigers in France 44. Lots of green and red brown sprayed all over the place.
