Hi all recently i have had a kidney stone operation which was sussesful and today i had to go for a follow up. I had a swelling on one of my kidneys and was told it was due to an infection.Today i went for results which as a shock was informed i had cancer. Apparently it is at an early stage and i have to have my kidney and the tube to my bladder removed. I have had a worrying thought but didnt exspect this today. I am not going to be myself sometimes lads and i am shitting it to be honest.

Mate, I can only imagine the fear you must have. Keep good people around you, and I'm thinking it's kind of lucky you had the kidney stone. Or you might not have caught this when you did.
Very best of luck, I will be praying for you.
Cheers JT

Hang in there as you will be in my prayers. Glad it was detected early so you will be OK. My dad is prostrate cancer survivor as he was so fortunate it was detected early too.
Just keep modeling and think positive. Perhaps you need to stop sniffling glue for a while...

Andy, Have spent most of the afternoon thinking about you and really can't imagine how hard it must be to take this kind of news. Even when we expect something we are never ready for it. Find someone to talk to; it really does help. The guys are right get a second opinion and as hard as it may seem now you will come out at the end of this and a positive attitude to your recovery counts for a hell of a lot. My mum had breast cancer and is now eight years clear.
Best wishes
Tony

Thanks guys ,i am going to try and keep a positive attitude to this . i dont think i need a second opinion as this was tested at the highest level and these guys know what they are talking about. I did say to the consultant give it to me straight what is likely to happen to me.She said that the cells are in transition so they are not pre C but not fully C. they are not rooted to the linings of anything either .Chances are you will have the kidney removed and the tube to the bladder which will definitely happen,Then that will be the end of it.With six monthly checkups after that.Lets hope so hey. Thank you all so much .Andy.

Andy
I am sorry to hear and having some first hand experience with having to face those words from the Doc I know how you suddenly have to re-evaluate everything in your life. Early is good, I have gone though the every six month exams for five years and now have been moved to a one year schedule. With modern medicine there are always possibilities, not like the old days, those tiny cameras provide the doctors with the real situation for treatments.
A week or so ago I looked at the BA armored car you did and can see you are a very serious model builder and I hope to see a lot more in the future.
