So, Here is is, my first post on MSC! What better way to start than with a review of something I received in the post today.
After talking with some of the guys at the Lancing IPMS show last weekend, I discovered how simple it was to create scenic leaves! (please ignore my ignorance; up until now I have been tearing up actual leaves for my dioramas!) The amazing Andy Argent and Dan B informed me that all I needed was a handful of silver birch pods! So, after searching high and low, walking up and down my street, over the hill and far away, I soon realised that finding a silver birch tree wasn't going to be as easy as it sounds! (I might try Andy's idea of pulling into a random lay-by on a motorway next time to try and find some!). So, with a quick google search I managed to stumble upon Basecrafts.com.
With their website, I was greeted with such a large selection of leaves, I was spoilt for choice. There are so many varieties; You would find it hard to discover something that wouldn't suit your current project! With a couple of items out of stock, I went for a small selection; Brown and gold leaves, soil scatter and forest undergrowth. At £1.50 a pot, they are hardly breaking the bank! So, order placed, I only had to wait one evening as they were shipped out to me the very same day, first class post no less.
Upon opening my dainty parcel, I was surprised at how much was actually crammed into these average sized pots! For under two pounds, you can't really knock it!
To say the least, I am really pleased with what I received. I would happily recommend them to anyone who, like myself, struggle to find a humble Birch tree!
I hope you guys have found this helpful, I,m still a newbie so bear with me. I'm hoping to get some pictures of my next build up here ASAP, so stay tuned!
