Here is another shelf queen form last year, Tamiya's type 90 mbt. Didn't get far with it so still loads to do now I am back in the mood for it!

Cheers guys, unfortunately I have hit a major snag whilst checking through the box last night I have somehow lost a major part of the turret!! Bugger!! god knows where it went to as I usually bag up small parts if I shelve a build. It's that bloody carpet monster again I bet. In the process of tracking down a new part so the builds on hold for a bit.

Well the plot thickens! said kit is now out of production so spares are unavailable here in the UK however the main importer is going to try Japan! Bet that will cost a pretty penny. Anyway I have been studying the kit and have deduced that a replacement can be made quite easily so I'm going to crack on with it. Thank god as I am really in the mood to finish this off.

Ha Ha! I think I can manage it even though I'm not a god when it comes to plastic card like Dicky! It's really just a simple cover on the mantlet to turret roof join.

Right made a start on the 90 and today I have worked on getting the auto loader fitted to the turret as well as adding a few etched bits to the hull. The auto loader assembly once painted up and a pin wash added looks very nice. Pity most of it will be hidden. Three rounds where painted up, decals added and then fitted to the rack.













So now I can close up the turret and start adding some extra details...

Cheers guys, well that didn't take me long! the building of type 90 is basically finished bar sorting out stowage and figures. This is why Tamiya kits are by far some of the best there is. It's the ease of construction, clear instructions and pure quality of the parts. You just can't beat em! I had to make a new mantlet to turret roof cover as the original was lost somewhere in time. Lead foil and plastic soon sorted that problem out. The Eduard etch when used really enhances the already fine kit and I also used a few bits from the spares box such as the chains on the smoke dischargers.

Cheers Gary glad you like it, Today I have been working on the figures and rounds to go with the tank. They are actually not too bad, the faces are a little soft but they should do. Should get em primed tomorrow ready for painting the camo over the next few days (hopefully)

Well spotted Andy, he's in the turret counting his rounds! I've now sprayed the model using tamiya's JGSDF colours XF72 & 73 then lightened the tones using XF21 sky. It's very light almost pastel in shade at the moment but will go darker once a gloss coat is on.















I've also started picking out the details with valejo colours and so far am pleased with the colours.

Cheers guys, Dicky you must have seen the same pictures I have. Lots of variation in tones. There does not seem to be much wear on Jap modern armour. They must keep em pretty tidy but a little will help boost the model
