John, you've answered the same question I've had with XF62 for several years. It's always been to dark for me as well but was not sure if it might be formulated for post WWII. Your lighter mix looks great. Any ideas on ratio? I appreciate you posting the results of your testing. They look great! Rick

Rick Hi Rick, I'm glad my testing is helping others, sorry I don't have a mix ratio as I just added some XF60 to a partial bottle of XF 62. I have read a good mix ratio is 60% XF62 to 40% XF 60. I'm going to try that mix the next time I want play around with the tamiya paints,

Trying my hand at weathering with pigments and pigment fixer. All comments and critiques welcome.

Big John
Great build and of course the tires are outstanding, makes me realize I need to get mine started one of these days. For North Africa I would have to say Spot On but for D Day it might be a little too light in a dusty way. I suppose all models we build are subject to what theater we are attempting to represent.

Nice little model John!
Just a thought...since it's a water tank, how about washing some of the pigments off around the top lid, to simulate water sloshing around.

Nice one, BJ. I like the dusty look, I have several pics from Normandy showing heavily dusted gear. Sorry for being late, but I've been away from MSC
