There shouldn't be much residue to smell Bill. That's what those holes around the muzzle are for, the breech redirects the smoke and pressure out those holes. Tony lee

Carl it's 107 here today in the afternoon. That's about normal for this time of year. What's not normal is the upwards of 50% humidity. That's 10x the norm.

50%? Haaaahahahahaaaaa...try 95%. My dehumidifier in the basement has been running for a week straight keeping the kits dry!

Hey Dupes thanks for reposting the pics on this page my friend . Dank and dingy is what I get out of the look . You know them cold steel walls must of done a lot of sweating what with the crew members breathing and adding to the moisture accumulation ......then there is that engine just the other side of the steel firewall ......what a hell hole !!! I wanted the interior to give the feel that of dirtiness that must of been common inside these steel death traps . Dank describes it well !
Bill thanks bro for the comment on the feel of the interior . This is a major weathering excursion for me into the dirty and filthy look . I'm enjoying it really well . Tell you what its a lot more difficult getting this look than I first figured .
Tony , I hope they had all of the gaps n' cracks sealed up .
G , I get it , 107 and 50% , makes a big diff when your used to that dry heat. Its that time of yr. when the monsoons hit down in Phoenix .That moisture must of made it up to your area .
Take care my friends !

Tony lee LOL Tony, I know...but it still sounded good when I typed it as I couldn't think of any better way to express appreciation for Carl's weathering. If the exhaust did vent into the fighting compartment, these things would definitely be 'one and done' monsters given the toxicity of rocket fuel components used! Carl, I hear you about the level of effort required to get the look you've got here. It's just the right balance over the interior buff and you make it look effortless (when we know it's not!)

Hey Bill good to read your comments ! Andy , I still cant believe it ........ This will finish the upper casement interior . I had planed on finishing the radios and engine gauges but after looking at some close up pics of them I decided they needed re doing . So here's the 380 mm Raketen-Werfer 61 mounted .

Blimey, I thought it looked good with the initial Umber wash but now it's seriously brilliant. This has really given me inspiration - I've just bought Dragons newer SiG 33 on the Pz.III Chassis with a really nice interior. Normally I just think "meh, nobody's going to see the inside - I'll leave it" but I'm definately going to have a crack at an interior job on the SiG. The gun assembly itself should weather up beautifully. I'm really looking forward to seeing more of this one! Keep us posted! Ben

Eddy , thanks for comment . Question , whats "SF" ? Hey Ben , thanks ! Its great to read that my model has inspired you . Is that kit the PzKpfw III Ausf H ? Should a good candidate for some detail and weathering . Tony , light em' up Nems thanks my friend from across the ole pound !!! Lui , I haven't tried the sponge method for chipping yet . I used this combo of brushes (below ) The frazzled brush I dipped in enamel panzer gray , dabbed off the excess paint on a cloth and then did the randon brushing in the interior . I did this over a coat of Future so any time I didn't like the results I cleaned it off with enamel thinner . For the longer lines of scratches I used the fine tipped brush . HTH my friend .

Very nice look with that big ol' gun launcher in place Carl, looks mean and ready to rumble! Love your brushes too, I keep my old brushes for just the same type of application use...I have some pretty ratty ones that continue to hang around for just that purpose.
