The last IDF AFV i have built is the Academy kit of the Merkava IV, and as is my wont it was not an OOB build. I used the Legend upgrade kit for the Academy kit as well as the Hard Corps Models Droid. The Droid was a superb bit of casting and it was a real loss when Dave Harper passed away from cancer as he was just establishing himself, and his company. Anyways the following photos show the Merkava built, but unpainted just so i can show what upgrades i added. The anti-slip was added using hairspray and embossing powder. As always the damned anti-RPG ball and chains gave me a real headache. I think of all the IDF tanks the Merkava IV is my favourite and i can see myself building another one or two at least. Having looked at the HB version i still prefer the Academy one even though the HB comes with moulded on anti-slip. However the total smeg up they made on the running gear means i will not bother to build one of them The paint was applied using an Iwata CS airbrush. The paint is Lifecolour with the detail painting is Vallejo Model Colour. I hope you like it as much as i do. Regards from the Swamp Eth

Lovely, really lovely! Anyone know of any cool IDF hummer/land rover type vehicles that I could look into? Or what is standard for the IDF in that role? Just thinking aloud fellas. Beautiful Merk!

I have it in the stash somewhere. It is all packed away in anticipation of us moving so it will not be built anytime soon. It is a very nice kit with some good detail but i seem to remember some negative words about the front cow catcher and something to do with the way the TOW rounds are stored......but other than that i thought the kit was very interesting.

Thanks for the link and info Eth. I also did some looking the other day and found some lice of IDF rovers that look interesting. There is something extra menacing about these pragmatic and simple Idf machines that I cant turn away from. Love it.
