Hi folks... One of my favourite hobbies besides modelling and illustrations is Japan. Ive done some Japanese related dios and figures in the past*, and this will be my next one. Figures come from MasterBox and most probably there will be some partly scratch build plants and palm trees with a little help from Fredericus Rex Also in my mind is a little bunker... Lets see what we got here: *those are some of the Japan-related works: Thanks for dropping in... Lucas.

Ohayo goza imasu! Lucas-san desu... [Good morning, Lucas here...] Base started... A good friend delivers me some base plates, and I found this one very good for this subject. The rocks were "sketched" with polydure pieces, then followed a mixture of white glue and bird sand, plus a bit of toilet paper (unused of course!) I wet it with a very thin mixture of white glue and water... thats it. The rock was given abit more structure with pure bird sand that was fixed with hairspray - gives a very natural look imho. Simple as that. Has to dry over night now. See you later! Lucas

Found a very useful tutorial in a German Forum: www.modellboard.net/index.php?topic=10387.0...and tried it on my own to recreate a Palm tree. Heres the first steps. An old biro was used as the "trunk", covered with white glue and bird sand. The black spots are caused by a lighter The figures ned some additional work - the greenish stuff is Liquid Green Stuff from Games Workshop, quite useful here.

Here comes the base again... I did it like that: Priming color: Duplicolor "Ivory" rattle can Washings: Games Workshop (Agrax Earthshade/Gryphone Sepia) Highlights: Marabu "Ivory" and Tamiya Buff plus a bit of White - brought on with a sponge. Shell holes: just Punch a small hole with a brush top in the ground, a Little bit of black airbrushed, fix a bit of bird sand at the edges - done! Pure fun to work the details out! The Skeleton was painted with several shades of ivory and White again - more White than ivory. Finally some real roots... and done!

Step 1: The leaves were partially airbrushed with a kind of khaki Brown Step 2: Cut them out and fixed them on a toothpick - the smaller leaves come first. This took a while but once you have found out how it works, ist really easy! At this stage, I bent the leaves in a natural looking shape. One big leave is missing some smaller ones - but that doesnt matter. Step 3: Dry fit with the biro... Yeah! It works The base was a bit more complicated... Final touch ups were done with Vallejo Azure Blue plus some Thraka Gren ink. That was covered with clear cote and a bit of glossy white (foam). I wont build all figures from the set, so one spare helmet was left - ist Swimming at the beach... Red and white squares symbolize the Japanese colors of course... Not finished yet, still needs some finishing.
