Here we have the two fans for the Verlinden radiator, they came on resin blocks as shown. I used my home made sanding pad to sand the lower left one clean and ready to install. If there was a part of model building I would rather live without sanding resin parts would be right up there.

Making good progress here Bones! It's always the 'simple' builds that seem to end up being the most educational in the end. You had to know that there's no way this one would be 'easy', right?

With the interior work I knew there was bound to be some rough spots so I guess I knew they were coming combined with my lack of knowledge on the subject but it is fun learning.

Here is how I fixed the too wide resin cast firewall from above.

This shows a much sanded down firewall with the resin oil cooler gone. Also we have the trial fit for the side wall which needs to be thinned some more.

Piccies showing the 3 inch extended fender for the sand shields that no one wanted but probably due to someone favored status they were applied anyway even though you seem to never see one in the field that still has the shields on it. If anyone has the ear of TASCA they might want to mention that an update to their instructions should include this extension. This shows the OOB part glued to the extension, note that I drilled out the bolt hole with a # 80 bit which I think is better than the OOB dimples.

Thank you Dicky I am certainly learning a lot here that I never needed when working on the Sherman exterior, the inside is more information demanding with much less info floating around. Thankfully AlliedEric seems up to speed on them and has provided the anwers I needed.

Good morning Bones, Job well done on getting the walls to fit in the engine compartment. Thank you for the "visually stimulating" pics. There are worse things to wake up to. I hope things are not too chilly down your way. Dave

I see that you have very good eye or nose in seeking quality for cleavage or maybe good kit building but its tough for me to compete with Kate.

My wife wants to go to town in the morning so I'm not sure how far I will get with this tonight. I figured I should satrt showing some activity here before some one started to think I might have caught a dose of Leffleritist (no known cure) and my build had disappeared into the land of fairy dust.
Making the dry fit here and can see a need for some more thinning.
Progress shot on the Ford GAA by Verlinden styrene part is for non included oil fill opening, added some fuel lines also.Need to make an oil cooler for the firewall on the engine side so I glued up a bunch of .020 styrene rod will shape it later and discuss some serious problems with the Verlinden kit and having a very nice Tank Shop firewall and oil cooler for the crew side and the need to decide on what to keep and what to throw away.Radiator and fans which may be the best parts from the Verlinden kit. Im not sure this will be of interest to anyone but it is the fire extinguisher cones, I had another shot but it got away somewhere. The cone on top at the front has been drilled out and then opened further with the #11 it was cut off the front of the casting block. The one it sets on is still attached to the casting block and the blob in the cone can be seen.

Bones, having Leffleritis implies you want to marry any piece of german armor... BTW, nice progress, as mr Leffler in person said, it'll be a stunner

Leffleritis can be quite lethal if not treated properly. However, only Andy knows the cure. So whats the Cure Andy? Time is of the essence here! Great works Bones, the fuel lines look awesome! Got to keep the Wife happy buddy, plus it may keep you from being to exposed to the Leffleritis virus!

Nice progress Bones! The only known cure for Leffleritis is a stiff dose of Dicky's Patented Death Threat Elixir!

Thank you all for taking your time to look it keeps me thinking build more.
Andy
I don't know about how good it will turn out but it is turning out to be a real challenge to do with all the verlinden scale problems but I am a master at faking it so we still have a chance if no one looks to close.
Luigi
Or it could mean that my build will never be seen again, I generally avoid that German armor to keep from having terminal Leffleritis set upon me ill just live with long delays between posting of progress pics.
Gary
Yes it is a must to keep the the one who must be obeyed or provide the funds for new kits happy, fortunately mine like the finished models so keeping her happy fits in with fun builds. Im hopeing that posting with some regularity will keep Leffleritis ay bay and like the wolf away from my door.
WildBill
I'm not so sure about the strength of Nemo's death ray since it does not seem to bring about any appearance of a missing DUWK on the horizon.

Nice progress Bones! The only known cure for Leffleritis is a stiff dose of Dicky's Patented Death Threat Elixir! That's the one he makes by distilling white styrene, am I right?
